Default Pacific Poker

not sure what section this should be in so I will put it here feel free to move it if need be.

I have been watching some games over at pacific poker last couple day's, mostly thier $50 NL games and im amazed of how strong people play there Ax cards when a ace hits on the flop. Maybe Lou can elaborate on this since he is the one that has been playing on there the most latley. It seems to me any good play (not me) could make a goldmine slowplaying and nice AK, AQ, or even AJ and let the moron's on there bet into you.

Just a thought.

That is the thinking.
Although... on a full table A-J should be treated exactly like A-x.
A-Q will cost you if you aren't careful also...

Pacific is my little secret. There are so many bad players. I save my NL game for Party, and I keep Pacific going for playing limit. I usually play anywhere from $1/2 to $3/6, as well as MTTs or SnGs.

Pacific has one of the worst "sliders" out there. This can get frustrating when playing NL, so I try to avoid it. There are other reasons Pacific sucks: (1) you can only play 1 table at a time, (2) cashing out takes about a week, (3) the bonus is difficult to clear, (4) the interface is just frustrating.

As far as slowplaying: I tend not to do it playing limit, unless I have a real monster. (Flop a full house, etc.) I find that the players will call w/ 2nd or 3rd pair, hoping to suckout...

So far, I haven't been victim to too many suckouts.

yeah I was playing a $100 NL table at pacific the other day and had $326 at the table from busting someone with AA... the flop came all lows and they overplayed their QQ and I won a huge pot.

Pacific is nice to win money even tho the software sucks bad and you can only play 1 table at a time.

that sucks that cashing out takes a week, really dosent matter to me because you have to make money to withdraw which I have yet to do. But that does sound kinda retarded taking a week to get your money, man I thought 2 days was a little long. That alone might keep me away from pacific.

I know awile ago I moved my $5.00 I won in one of their freerolls to almost $300 but couldnt get the money out since I hadnt deposited on there using my firepay account so I just blew it away. I thought I was just really lucky to win that much buy maybe just maybe there players are just that bad. Maybe eventully I will put a little bit in pacific and give it a try. Thanks for the update Lou.

Brian, FYI, every site has their fair share of really bad players. It's recognition of these bad players and finding them that will make you a winning player. You have got to take notes, especially if you are having any difficulties winning which you say you do. All about staying away from the TPs and ChipFishes and Lous if you play holdem and staying away from the eddos and omahilos and myself if you play O8. Gotta find the fish and take their money dude.

yes I stay as far away from Lou, tp and chipfish that I can, If I even hear there on the same system as me I log off for the day. Im doing pretty good in the NL low limit tables hopefully it keeps up...It feels good to actully come away from a table or 3 and not be down money.

Another thing, don't multi-table if you're struggling. Stay focused on 1 hand at a time until you start to feel very comfortable in different situations and surroundings. I find that when I started multying up, one table would get the majority of my attention and I would end up going even because I would lose at other tables.

Bitch,

Find me on the Party 3/6 LHE tonight and we'll see if you leave me off your special little "stay away" list again.

I get no respect.

LMAO, by any chance do you mean 3/6 O8B heads-up?

Brian, instead of playing 2 tables at low limits, play 1 table at the next level up. It may be boring but you need to decide whether you want to profit or merely have fun. When you start making some cash, even when you aren't playing 60-70 % of the flops you are having fun. Focus on winning, not entertainment, and the fun will come naturally.

dont really have the bankroll right now for any level any higher have $60 right now until the 5th of next month. I'am playing 3 tables at .05/.10 NL I started with $80 and lost about half of it then rebuilt up to $75 last night then this moring lost $8-$9 when I went all in preflop with KK against AK and he caught 2 aces...oh well. I'am forceing myself to stay at this level until I get at least a $200 bankroll. Plus I have $200 in bonus money waiting for me to clear.

NO Lou im not having you come take my money!!!! You just stay the hell away from me I'm trying to get to be a better poker player and the last thing I need is you comming and "trapping" me! I think I have made great improvement and want to continue to, a very experienced player like you taking all my money is not gonna help me in the least.

Yes the bonus is a bitch to clear but I have 4 months to do it and for a player learning to play smart poker its a perfect fit for me.
