Default Sunday Million Final Table Deal

So I was watching the $530 Stars Sunday Million last night. After getting down to the final two between SNo0oWMAN and roosterbill they both decided to run the numbers.

After the numbers were run roosterbill who had about 18 million would have gotten about 202K while SNo0oWMAN would have taken around 186.5K .. leaving 30K to play for... SNo0oWMAN was willing to accept the deal if roosterbill would give him 190K ... roosterbill said that he wanted 200K even ... As the numbers were being recalculated SNo0oWMAN said "screw it lets play" ...

Now to me sitting there it makes sense that if I were in roosterbills position that I'd give up a silly $3,500 to be assured 199K as well as a chance at the final 30 K.... After watching the final two battle it out SNo0oWMAN ended up taking the entire 278K down .......

What would you have done in the situation ? Give up $3,500 knowing that you are still playing for another $30K

or risk the extra money like SNo0oWMAN did and play for it all ??

What was the second place money? And what were the chip counts?

From what you'ce written so far, I'd probably have insisted on at least 200k too.

First Place money was 278K
Second place money was 140K

The chip count when they stopped to make a deal was

SNo0oWMAN had about 13 million
Roosterbill had just over 18 million

.... Yeah I'd say Roosterbill shot himself in the foot losing 59K, because he wouldnt give up $3,500 hahaha

And if he ended up winning, you'd say the exact same thing about the other guy but because of a lousy $1500.

The deal that was offered was fair, equity-wise, but unless both were more than 30BB deep, I don't think I'd have taken the deal with 42% of the chips in play.

In fact, if its HU and its not deep, and I have over 40% of the chips, I'm not accepting a deal vs Phil Ivey or any other top pro. I understand the math reality of shallow-stack HU play, so nobody on earth is a 3:2 favorite over me.
