PartyPoker Monster
from PartyPoker.
There are now new blue tables at every non-micro limit that just makes an excuse for Party to rake even more. Now these games will attract the fishes to these blue Monster tables all the while I have to pay $.50 more in rake every hand. Guess I'll take my $5K a month in rake elsewhere. Oh yeah, and there is now this extremely annoying animation at the bottom-right of every "Monster" table (which will be the vast majority of tables very quickly) that you cannot get rid of. Fuck PartyPoker. Last edited by Boobie Lover; 07-25-06 at 02:59 PM. |

I haven't looked at all the details of this yet - only skimmed it.... but, maybe this isn't so bad. As I see it, you have two choices:
1. Keep playing at the regular tables. I know you think they will be tougher (less fishy), but I doubt it. With proper table selection (see the shabi system), I am CERTAIN there will still be plenty of fishy tables at the limits you want to play. Not all fish want to pay extra rake for some random Jackpot promotion... when Party introduced the Bad Beat tables, that didn't kill the action at the rest of the site. 2. Play the Monster tables. The animation is annoying as hell, so we'll have to see about how to get rid of it, but I'm sure there is a way (kinda like how I got rid of that stupid Side Bet thing when they introduced it). If these tables are indeed more fishy, you may not care about the extra 50 cents of rake per hand. I dunno - that is a lot of extra rake... but there is the whole promo thing too, of course - who knows? Maybe you'll hit a jackpot now and then. |

I suppose I could play the Monster tables, since I was going to start playing 600 NL, and some others have guessed that playing 600 NL on them will reduce the winrate by 0.4 BB/100. That is ok. I may continue to play at Party, once there is a way figured out to get rid of the animation.
For the low limit players though, this will basically ruin the winrates of people that play 200 NL and below to the point that it is not worthwhile to play at Party. As for your assumption that there will be enough non-monster tables to play, sure there will always be other tables to play, but I'm going to guess that it will be more like 75/25 split for Monster tables to non-monster tables. I could find better game selection with better rake at other sites if I am unwilling to play at the higher raked tables (which is highly likely with my attitude towards Party at this point). |

For those wanting to get rid of that massively annoying scrolling thing at the bottom right hand corner of each Monster table, I which should get rid of it. Just download the link, open and extract all files to the images folder of PartyPoker (probably C:\Program Files\PartyGaming\PartyPoker\Images).
Here is a screenshot of what it looks like. black.jpg |

I don't play on party so this doesn't matter to me, but with this new promotion does rakeback increase as well?

wow i havent played in 2 or 3 days but i did tonight.
4 tabled on my desktop- the computer with the only working internet. i realized 4 tabling for 2 hours moves Much slower than 8 tabling... i felt like it was about 4 hours and had to quit. anyway, the party Monster tables might be the greatest things ever. Theres alot more 1kNL tables now and fish are everywhere. i used to know almost every player, now i can sit and not know the whole table, and they play with the skill level of about 1/2 nl. its pretty ridiculous...they love to bluff.

Well, this is encouraging to hear. Let's see what Wonderboy thinks after a week or so of these tables.
