Default Book Review (Tells)

Ultimate Guide to POKER TELLS
by Randy Burgess and Carl Baldassarre

At first this book seemed like a Rehash of Mike Caro's "book of tells"
but the authors explain right from the start that most of Caro's book dealt more in the line of Draw Poker and not modern games like holdem etc etc.

Right from the start they tell the truth about tells
1) Tells are overrated
2) Tells are Underrated
heh that just about covers it all but after reading the section it make a lot of sense the way it's written.

Chapters include

1) How Important Are Tells in Poker
2) The Anatomy of Tells
3) First Impressions
4) Generic Tells in Limit Poker
5) Tells in No-Limit Poker
6) Test your Tell Detector
7) Becoming a Poker Psychic
8) Avoiding Tells Yourself
9) Beyond Tells : Protecting Yourself against Angle-Shooting
10) Tall Tell Stories

There are a lot of GREAT points made in this book I also find that a lot of their tell reading comes from actually reading betting patterns instead of looking for nose scratching and slouching. But there are a LOT of good examples of Small physical tells that caro or most people would not think about.
This book is more geared towards a B&M player but a lot of the betting pattern stuff would be usefull for the Internet Player as well
And since a lot of it deals with hold em and not draw poker it has a more modern influence than Caro's book does nowadays

Bottom Line another good read more for B&M
