Surprise, Surprise
I keep very detailed records. I think it's safe to say that at any given time, I know how much I have in each of my online accounts, not to the penny, but within $20 or so.
So this morning I'm playing for a half hour before leaving for work, and I open up Pokerroom, and my balance looks very wrong, but wrong in the right direction. I start playing, open up my online poker diary to make sure I didn't just forget a winning session or two, but no, my memory was correct, there's about $200 more in my account than my records say should be there. So I play a while more and open up my aol mail and to see if I cleared some unknown bonus, and there's the e-mail from Pokerroom. Seems one day last week I won a hand with a Royal, and Pokerroom pays $200 for a Royal. Who knew? I'll bet the jacket they give you at Foxwoods isn't worth $200. |

Not bad, now if only I could catch a royal.

I've been playing regularly online for more than 3 years and didn't catch one until a few weeks ago. This makes 2 in less than 2 months. I think I need to go out on the links and see if I can catch a hole-in-one.

I've caught a few queen and king highs, and this is playing O8, where the odds are probably a bit higher, but am still seeking my first royal.

I went a year and a half of regular online play without hitting a royal. I was at a home game, saying how I had never hit one, etc. The next day, I hit my first. three days later, another... meaning at the home game the next week, I had hit two since our Royal Flush conversation one week earlier.
Haven't hit once since. |

Apparently PokerRoom is where you want to catch them though.
Sweet surprise indeed! |

And yes... I was a tad sleepy Sunday morning. And a word of advice: Do NOT play Heidi heads-up with Peter as the dealer after 20+ beers

Shabi, if you are going to talk big, bring your ass up to Canada and drink some real beer.
I am in the prime of my life with respect to drinking, so anytime, anyplace, anyone is in Toronto, bring a tidy sum of money and loser pays the tab. Edited to add: I am 6 foot, 160 lbs., so when you see me, you'll be like "This guy isn't serious". However, I am convinced I can drink more litres per body weight than anyone on this continent .

To translate for our American friends.
20+ Canadian beers = Approx. 83 American Tall cans.

I remember going to a Bills game 2 years ago, getting wasted on Molson Canadian on the bus ride, then arriving in Barfalo and buying 2 40s of King Cobra and sobering up. I was not a happy camper.

I'm 5' 11", 245, old enough to be your father, out of my prime drinking years and get way too filled up by beer.
However, next time I make it to Toronto, I'll go head-to-head with you with hard liquor. You even get to choose what kind. |

LMAO, hard liquor has always been a shade of grey with me. Drink it on a full stomach, pay for it, drink it on an empty stomach, end up sleeping in the bathtub.
Sounds like fun Kurn .

Ok.
I will come to Toronto and we will go out drinking. I'll lose if I try to outdrink you (I'll be a game time decision, depending on how sick I feel like getting), but it will still be fun. I used to be a skinny bastard like the rest of you. I'm 6'5", 215 now. |

You are big, but I can drink LOL.
As for the beer gut, I ain't complaining, I drink at least a 24 a week (factoring in pints and whatnot). I know it is coming soon, but in the mean time I ain't complaining, my metabolism is working overtime. I hope when one of you guys actually come to Toronto, I am actually living in the city (whisper=you'll have a place to crash). Right now I am in the outskirts, but if the plan goes well (I have an exam to pass) I will be living in the city by late fall/early winter. It will be good times.
