My up and down weekend
So lets recap here friday I deposit $50 for the hell of it on pokerstars and buy saturday I had $200 but unfortantly I hit a bad run and my roll went down to $50 again by sunday night. Well I went back down to micro-limits and got it back up to $181.00. Monday night I went home after work and started missing every flop and getting sucked out bad and I was getting pretty pissed and very tilted and didnt get out of the game when I should of so yep your right lost it all back down to $50, I feel like a damn yo-yo. So Tuesday morning I wake up to watch my boys and start a micro limit game .25/.50 and im doing ok so I open 3 more games of the same limit so now im running 4x tables at once and about 3-4 hours later im sitting on a roll of $118.00. For some reason I cant crack the higher limits I dont think its becuase im a bad player because I dont play crap I play the quality cards maybe im just hitting a bad streak when I get to the higher levels. More then anything I think its because im Going in there with scared money, Im gonna try to move my roll up over $400-$500 before I go up to those higher levels. So if you come on stars take a look if im on my name is stormswa see you at the tables.

I appritiate the help but I know what I do wrong when I do it, I lost alot of it because of missed flops or someone sucking out or like capping with kings and an ace comming on the flop or something along those lines. My roll wasnt big enough to rebuild after losing those kinds of hands thats why im makeing money in the lower limits because I have enough money to rebuild after the crushing blows. |

Just stick with the 300 BB rule and you should be able to handle the swings. Drop to 200 then maybe rebuild at the level below? Cheers, Gutzz |

I'm not going to disagree with you here, I certainly hope this is the case.
On a side note.... There are alot of players losing alot of money on the internet.... I wonder how only winners play poker?

hey
well the only reason I come to this conclusion is when im at higher levels and I lose a good sum of it I always drop down and rebuild so I have to be doing something right. I mean im playing all paint and sometimes stuff like K-9,8....Q-9,8 and A-9,8 only if I can get in with one bet and im very late in position I hardly ever bluff unless im pretty sure my opponent dont have it. It took me awhile and a couple hundred to turn my negative bankroll into a positive one im still down all in all but at least now im playing with other peoples money. Even though its other peoples money I still play tight only problem I can see is when I get mad ive gotten better at calming down or go smoke or something. Think I should have my roll up to about $500 by end of next week im averageing $50 dollar profit a day in .25/.50 playing 4-5 tables at once. |

Brian,
There's something I don't quite get... Why're you in such a rush? If you put such lofty goals (winning 500 in 1.5 weeks at .25/.5), you're likely going to be disapointed, and could burn yourself out by playing so much. I'm just a concerned citizen.  Cheers, Gutzz |

hmmm
I usually lead out and bet to see if there is any intrest in the pot if its re-raised I fold if its called I check the turn if its raised I fold. If I get to look at the 2 free cards im looking to hit 2 pair if I dont and its raised on river I fold. |
