Default TP Admin v. Aequitas58 - Part II

The match goes on.

Adjusted rules:
Game: HE NLHE on Stars
Money: $0 if TP wins, $50 if I win.
Date / Time: TBD

Also, to make it more interesting... whoever wins, has to buy the other a TP.com teeshirt.

Let the shit-talking and side-bets take place.

Read the original post. Date and time to be determined - and it's taking place on PokerStars.

Hey,

I think this match is very cool and would like to watch you guys battle it out .

I was hoping perhaps you guys could post the HHs of this HU match, in case some of us miss it?

Thx,

I don't know about TP, but I'm not in favor of this idea. When you play heads up, and you can watch both players (especially knowing what they have) it says a lot about their game - what they do in certain situations, hands they tend to bluff w/, how they play monsters, etc.

I'd rather just leave it open to spectators.

I can go either way with this. We have to at least post the HH from the FINAL hand (or any critical hand throughout the match where we both push in)...

Have you determined yet how we are going to play on Poker Stars? Do they have heads up (or private) NL play money tables? I don't play there very much, so I really don't know. And I have yet to play a single "Play Money" hand in my life, so this will be a first for me

Anyone know about this?

You guys could play a HU s/g, I don't believe they have HU playmoney tables (could be wrong).

Or, you could just go to a NL penny table, both start with like, say, 3 bucks and the winner wins. Only downside to this the rake will eat up the stacks if it's long. But it is only pennies...

Or... you could each contact PS and ask them to create a special match for you. I have heard them do this for players who wanted to play a 25k HU match, why not for you guys? *grin*

Cheers,

Gutzz

someone else suggesed, and i think it would work great to play on pokerroom. 1500 starting chip stacks are nice. do you both have accts. there? I am pretty sure TP does, and Aeq. doesnt but it could work if Stars wont work.
Also, if you cant setup private tournaments on stars, how would we set up a TP.com only tournament that has been kicked around here? Maybe we should think about pokerroom for that as well?

We have a decision to make.

I checked out Pokerstars. They do not have 1-on-1 play money tables, but they do have 1-on-1 penny NL tables. Of course, if we did play on the real money (penny tables) there would be a rake. (Although small.)

I also looked into the 1-on-1 SnG tournaments on Stars. The cheapest limit is $5+.25. To me, this is a better option than the penny NL tables.

I did not contact PStars support to create a private table. This is an option, but I doubt they would make a $5+.25 private table... maybe they would. If you wanna go the "private route" let me know.

I looked at what PartyPoker can do for us, and it's not much. I can create a private table, very easily I might add, but they only offer limit hold em. Party doesn't have any kind of 1-on-1 action that I can find: play money or real money.

So, I'll propose this, let me know if you like the idea. If you don't, reply here, send me a PM, or contact me on AIM: We log onto Stars and sit at a $5+$.25 1-on-1 SnG. The administrative fee of $.25 each is definitely reasonable, and it would be easy for the railbirds to watch the action. We would each start w/ 1500 chips, and the blinds increase every 10 minutes.

Although this would be a tournament format where the blinds would increase, it would encourage action. (Not that I think that's a problem in this case! Re-raise!)

So, let me know what you want to do. If you have another proposal, let's hear it, but I think this might work pretty easily. Sidenote: given Murphy's law, and judging from past experience that "shit happens" the SnG idea is good because if something comes up for either one of us, then it can easily be rescheduled. Who knows when internet connections go bad, something comes up, etc.

Date / Time: Because of my crazy and hectic schedule, the best time for me would be this upcoming Thursday night. I don't know how good that is for you, so you'll have to let me know. I'm kind of addictied to the Apprentice, so I was thinking we shoot for a start time of say, 10:15 est time.

Again, that's Thursday 12/9 @ 10:15pm ET.
Pokerstars: $5+.25 SnG, 1500 chips each.

Let me know if this is amicable to your schedule.

Default PokerRoom

From what I hear, PokerRoom is probably the best bet. BUT, I don't have an account there. I plan on opening an account there soon, but I want to work up my bankroll a little more more so I can maximize the deposit bonus. Always need to take full advantage of that.

I'm sure TP will find this understandable.

My schedule is really flexible... day, night, whatever. 10:15 next Thursday night is NOT good for me though, as that's the BIG NL cash game I play in, and I'd rather not miss that. Could we do it earlier? Like around 7 or so?

As for the buy-ins, are we just considering that added money (makes your EV better!) or are we factoring that into what we are playing for? Me - I vote that it's just added money.

If you sign up through my links, then yes, I will

One thing to consider though, PR offers reload bonuses regularly... so even if you don't get the max first time deposit money ($100), at least you'll have an account there and can get any reload bonuses that are offered between now and wheneven you were planning on making your first deposit.

Actually, since we are "both" adding the buy-ins, it wouldn't positively or negatively effect my EV.

I have $2.99 on PStars right now. LOL. In the meantime, I will try to build this up to $5.25, and we just make the buy-in added money. If, though, I can't build it up, or I lose or whatever, we'll need to do a $5.25 transfer, and it'll just be a part of what we're playing for. If you win, you get your money back (minus $.25). If I win, I'd win $10 total, and then you'd only owe $40 more.

Sorry - forgot to address your concern for Thursday night. 7pm EST time sounds fine to me. How long do you foresee the match going? 1/2 hr - probably less?

I have a feeling you're gonna be a douche bag - trying to put a move on me when I have the nuts, you lose everything, and just say that I got lucky.

Hah.

Sure it would. Let's look at an extreme example. Say we were each adding $1000. Then we'd be taking the $30 I owe you and playing for $1000 if I win or $1050 if you win. surely you agree that's a better EV for you than $0 or $50 (on your $30).

My local game for tonight was just cancelled. Any chance you want to get the show on the road and play tonight? If so, just name the time and I'll make it happen. Later would probably be better, as far as railbirds are concerned. Maybe a 10:00 or 11:00 start time?

Surely you can get $2 into your account by then, one way or another. If not, I'll spot you.

LOL... I would like it if it went on for a while, but I can't imagine it will even last a half hour... probably 10-15 minutes, max. Depends how crazy you play and how willing you are to throw all your chips into the middle. With low blinds, there's no reason to hurry, so I plan to just wait and then smack you around when I have the nuts. Ooops - I'm giving away my strategy!!!

Tonight doesn't seem like a good night. I haven't seen my girlfriend in a few days, and we're going out later on. If we don't, then maybe it'll happen. We both have AIM, so it would be easy to pop on, but to give the railbirds notice might pose a problem.

It's probably better to put it off.

Besides, shouldn't you brush up on your NL heads up play?

Who - wait a minute. Wait just a damn minute!

Am I reading this right? Surely I must be misinterpreting something here. Are you saying... no, you can't be. It's just not possible. I mean, it can't be true. Has the whole world gone topsy turvy?

YOU have a girlfriend???
