Default Best Big Tourney finish

I like to win a little more than $50 in 4 hours usually but I'm still happy for the experience and confidence boost. Just finished 40/2000 on a party 5 + .50 tourney. Best finish yet. Played less than ten of the big ones.

It was a lot of fun. Caught a big rush early on which was fun. don't usually play this but no work today.
Played well, made some really good reads, and the dealer was very nice.

I think we should get some T-shirts printed for TP and go out there and "take over the poker world" ala the Crew.

I play live tables alot so if the shirts look nice I wouldnt mind playing them and there not really that expensive to do I think since our admin is being so nice and paying us to post we should buy the shirts and support his forum with some of the winnings we are making with his money.

I would also be interested in the shirt as well. Someone should see how much they would cost.

I managed 89/1520 in a $30+3. I had about 20k right around the bubble, and called a 11k all-in with KK. It was cracked by his AK.

Default Party $5+1

14th, 14th, 25th, 39th. There was a time when I really thought I was gonna win one of those and first place was over $1800 each time (or less than the cost of the flop of TP's games), but I have recently been playing cash games or SNG and leaving the enormous multi's alone.

In the other thread I said I can get shirts printed up pretty cheap as my father has all the equipment and blank shirts to do the job, someone let me know and I'll get a sample made with a price and post a nice picture for everyone to see.

17th out of somewhere between 500-1000 on a poker champs freeroll.

Other than freerolls, I don't play large tournaments.

On the freerolls on Pacific Poker, I've placed 2nd, 3rd, 7th and 9th out of 1000.

My best in a pay tourney is 1st/97 on a $10 NL tourney. Other than that, I haven't placed (I've played about a dozen big tourneys)

Default Best Finish

My best finish was 3rd in a limit 5K freeroll. I made 300 bucks for 3-4 hours work. Heh! Second best was recently, 25th out of 275 for a whopping twenty bucks profit. It felt good to do so well, but I could have done better. I just melted down.

Well done.... I would bet judging by your freeroll results if you play cash tournys regulary it wont be long before you win a few and place in a lot.

Big Freerolls played by yourself in the correct manner (the same as you would play for cash) are a great training and learning ground, your results in these show you have the stanima and character to perform well in the cash games.

Ther are a very large amont of players who just play anything in freerolls but at a certain stage the real poker players are left and the game is just as exciting as any cash tourny, you still want to finish as high as possible. It wont be long before you are doing the same in cash games.

Thanks... I've been going through my pay tourney history and noticed that my most common way of losing is:

1. Bluffing a pot on the flop and turn, losing about half my stack
2. Going all-in on AJ or 77 and getting snapped in a race

Does anyone else do this? Number 1 leads to number 2. I think I've got to cut my losses if my bluff is called on the flop (unless the player is noticably weak).

Overall, I'm happy with my play. I haven't deposited any money, and I've been able to build a bankroll of $350 ($480 at one point until my drunk friend entered me in a $100+9 SNG)

Are freerolls really that good a gauge of your tourney play. It seems like there are a lot more people just dicking around in freerolls than there would be in a regular tourney, like the first hand all in people, and that would completely change the complexion of the tourney.

My personal best is 8/938 in a freeroll, those are the only big tourneys I've played before.

Default Me

I have never done either of the two things you mentioned EXCEPT when VERY short stacked and I had no choice. All in Pre-Flop with 77 and a critical stack is not a bad thing.

The one thing I do not do well: Beleive the All-In. I sometimes am too eager to call the all-in against me. I should normally just fold and wait for a better chance.

I usually bounce between NL hold em and omaha hilo. I'm just not a fan of 7 stud for some reason, live or online. I definitely don't think that any game is too specialized, I think the more games you try and play the better overall player you'll be.

I have 3 MTT final table tourneys. My 1st was a victory in a Pokerroom tourney with about 450 People, 5+1 buy in.

my 2nd was also at Pokerroom. 10+1 buy in with about 150 people. I finished 4th or 5th, I forget.

Most recently i joined a Stars 1$ buy in lol with like 1875 people. Made it to final four and we decided to chop the rest of the pot equally. I had the shortest stack and it was 5 AM so i didnt oppose it.
