What is a Backer ?

Hi everyone, I'm very new to this new site and joined cuz it seems like everyone hear is nice and loves poker like i do. I have been playing poker for only a few months but feel I'm really improving and i like the fact that im making more playing poker a few hours a day than i am at my job, which i desperately want to quit. One thing that i do not understand in poker that i have seen you guys talking about is a BACKER - wut exactly is one? can anyone explain ?

A backer provides money to a skilled poker player, which is used either to buy in to a cash game or for a tournament entry fee. The backer then gets a certain percentage of the player’s winnings.

Awesome, Thx i get it now, sry i didnt see ur reply in the other thread, but thx both for the explanation.

Also, one main reason i wanted to join is to get into the Bankroll Building contest, are you going to be having another one of these next month or was that a one time thing ?

The user titles change automatically based on the number of posts you have until you hit 1000. Then you can do whatever you want.

The Bankroll Building contest actually premiered last month, in June. This is the second one, but you can certainly still join. I will be playing it it myself (I fully intend to win again), but not until I get back from Vegas in another week and change...
