ESPN Tourney for WSOP Seat
I was messing around last night and found that ESPN.com Fantasy Games has a poker tournament promotion going on. It is free. You just have to sign up and download a program.
The Final Tournament (held on May 15?) winner will receive a WSOP package that includes an entry into the 2005 WSOP. You have to qualify for the tournament by one of a few methods. The first step is to qualify for the weekly Sunday Qulifier. Win either a Multi-Table Tourney or win 5 single table tourneys or play a certain number of hands. The top 50 players from each Sunday Qualifier will win a seat in the final tournament. I do not recommend the single table tourneys. On the first hand, at least half the players will go all-in. The winner has a huge chip lead and it is nearly impossible to overcome that. I won my first attempt at the multi-table tourney. There are 30 players on four tables. At best, I am an average poker player, but I was in control most of the tourney. The players were crappy at best and overplayed their AK, AQ, and any pocket pair. I will see how the Sunday Qualifier goes. I don't think it should be too tough to finish in the top 50. It isn't a bad deal considering the prize involved. |

Is there a point in someone under 21 attempting. Does getting a free entry to the WSOP cancel out the gambling part of it???
