rebuy tourney, what would you have done in this situation?
Hello everyone, hope everyone is doing well (its been a while since I posted)
Anyways, I recently played in a $5 + $5 rebuy tournament at a local poker club. What an experience it was (-ve). First of all, before going I tryed to get as much information as possible. I found out that the rebuy period was 40 minutes, with blinds inceasing every 10 during this 40. Also, 15 min blinds after the rebuy. I figured I'd bring $25 - 5 buy ins, 4 rebuys and the original buy in. So I go to the tournament, all is fine. Once I get to the tournament I find out some "new" information. Players who buy in for $5 get 1500 in chips, but players are allowed to buy in for $10 and received 3000. Of course, only bringing $25 left me in a bad bad bad spot. I know I should have had more money, but I was going witht he information I had. Please don't reply and tell me I needed more money to play I realise that already. But not to be a disadvantage I decided to buy in for $10. The rebuy period was absolutely nuts. 6 people all in every hand. I hated it, and will never play a rebuy tourney again. I knew with the money behind me, my only choice was to play tight, push with a prem and otherwise survive. I didn't see any prem hand, or any pocket pair in the 40 min rebuy period. I did however push once with an A- 10, and received 4 other callers. I had second best hand next to 6-6. The other 3 players had 10-9, 8-3, and one had 9-6. So I was really liking my odds of hitting an ace. Unfortunately for me the board came 2-7-4-4-5 and the players 66 held up. Down $10.... So I rebuy for $10, and received my 3000. So the very VERY last hand of the rebuy period, blinds at 200-400, I have a full stack. I am Under the gun with A-10 o/s. I debated whether or not I should push. If I lose it, I go home. However, if I fold I can pay the last $5 for the add on of 2500, again wasn't aware of the add on. The blinds were going to be at 400-800 after this, with me being in the BB to start. So what would you do? Would you push with A-10 o/s and hope to win? Or would you fold and pay the add on to have 5500 in chips after the break? What I did: I really dont know if I made the right play. But I decided to fold. A little bit on the cautious side. However, my reasoning was I had a tight image. So I figured with the big blinds if everyone tightened up as I expected them to do I'd be able to still lots. I also knew I had a VERY TIGHT table image because I heard one of the regulars telling another regular that I was "tighter than a virgin" lol! I ended up building my short stack to 18000, blinds hit 1000-2000 and pushed on my small blind with Ad 2d and received a call from the BB with K-10 o/s. Board comes Qd Jd 4....rag....9..... guy rivers the straight. Oh well! Another side note, this tournament was terrible. I won't replay it. I added up the numbers for the prizepool. It was an $1840 prizepool, not including the rake they took. Talking to another poker player I know there, he said they take about $250-$300 in rake. There were also 60 players playing. Anyways, what would you have done in my situation. And don't say go to an ATM, I didn't have my debit card on me. Would you go all in or fold and add on?

I would of just folded and give it a whirl with 5500 chips after break since the play wont be so crazy.
