Party Poker High Hand Bonus
Just watched, rake is same as regular table.
Why not play these? Same bad players, same rake, same idiots chasing down a miracle. Bonus is, if they miss, you win the pot, if they hit, you get a cut of the jackpot...

If there's no extra rake, where do they get the funds for the jackpot? From the normal rake?

party is just putting 1000 in the jackpot and winner gets 700 and remaining 300 is split among the table.
it doesnt grow like the other jackpot. |

It kind of sucks that the hand has to go to a showdown though. But I guess that's actually good to in that almost everybody will be seeing a flop with 1-4 gap suited cards; prepare to get sucked out by two pair a bunch. Also, why did party bother to add 9max to the 1/2 tables but not 6max to any other limits, is there some corporate logic behind this that i'm not seeing, is it too hard to hit the minimum rake at those levels?

I THINK there are 9-max at the 10/20 (i am at work right now so i cant check). I wish they would expand their short-seated games to other limits other than 1/2 and 5/10.
Has anyone tried the 9-max tables yet? |
