In Honor of...
In honor of my 1000th post (!!!) I present to you the latest incarnation of the PokerStars Talking Poker theme.
It's still a little rough around the edges and some of the changes they made to the theming system messed with the proper display of the table label (where is says "tournament table" and the like) so it overlaps. I just discovered this today but still wanted to release it to celebrate my 1000th post. I'll keep working on it and see if I can get it to work properly. Also, watch for alternate backgrounds and different table colors coming soon! To install: Create a directory called 'XThemes' in your root PokerStars directory. Extract this file into that directory. It sould create a xthemes.ini file and a talkingpoker directory with the theme inside it. Then, launch PokerStars and choose this theme from the Themes submenu. I have to include it as a link as the forum max for compressed files is 97KB. A little small for this. Now, unfortunately my server sucks and doesn't like links referred from this site. So you'll need to copy and paste the URL into your address bar instead of just clicking on the link. surfergeeks.net/talkingpokertheme.rar Last edited by Robbie Robb; 08-07-06 at 03:51 PM. |

Email it to me and I'll post it on the TP server when I get a chance.
Scratch that - I'll just download it and do it myself... in a couple of days. How about a screenshot??? |

I vote to swap out the TP silhouette with one of the newer, much better ones at CardPlayer. There will be another shot there tomorrow too, as Lisa Wheeler snapped a few pics of me again today.

As I mentioned, I'll be releasing new backgrounds soon. Possibly tonight, but most likely tomorrow. I was actually thinking of using one of the new pics that CP posted as well Mark! But, I wanted to get this out for the 1000th (and 1001st posts).
Also, I'll do custom table colors. If you want a particular color, just let me know and I'll whip one up. I'm definitely doing a blue one and a black one but will also do any other color. |

Thanks Wes! My host sucks. But when it's free, you don't really earn a right to complain... (Through some weird billing glitch I haven't had to pay to since around October 2002 and no one's noticed...)

Okay, I lied. I had some time.
Here is a background pack of some different backgrounds. We have: New pic of Mark, light text New pic of Mark, dark text New pic of Mark, no text (my new favourite - FAR cleaner looking) No pic of Mark, light text No pic of Mark, dark text No pic of Mark, no text I've put this up in a zip file (Boobie was right - not everyone will have WinRAR or Power Archiver installed). To install - unzip the files into the XTheme/talkingpoker directory then fire up PokerStars. Go to View->Themes and click on the Talking Poker theme. Then click on the 'Background' button and enable 'Custom Background'. Click on the Browse button and navigate to the XTheme/talkingpoker directory and choose the background you want. In the lower half of the screen, select 'Center' from the 'Stretch/Tile/Center' dropdown. Click Apply/OK (can't remember which it is). Then you're all set! I've borrowed a friends server so clickable goodness is now available! |

Just heard back from PokerStars support. Unfortunately, because of the way they implemented the current theme system, there is no *easy* way to move the table labels and other elements (such as the "tournament table" graphic).
I can change the graphic so that it's invisible, but at the moment, that's about it. Grr... |
