Pot Limit vs No Limit
Have any of you noticed any differences between playing a No Limit Cash game versus a Pot Limit Hold Em cash game? I have been messing around with Pot Limit the last week or so - and it seems softer to me. I should note that i have been playing Pot Limit short-seated at InterPoker - which has soft players anyway. But, i have gotten this feeling before. It seems easier to bully in Pot Limit - and they also seem to call down with a lot less.
I also realize that one week of Pot Limit is not a good sample size - which is why i am posting this question. For our resident Omaha players - i would like to hear their views on Pot Limit vs No Limit in that game too. I have begun dabbling a little more seriously in Omaha Hi Lo as well..... |

pot limit is designed to keep more draws in... so if you have any draw where you are a 2:1 dog or less, you can call any bet. since omaha's strongest hands are doublesuited wraps, you're going to be on a draw a lot of the time. in no limit you can protect your hands better according to odds, but people will still chase unless you play at really high limits

also Pot Limit is all after the flop play so if your a good player after the flop, you are better suited to play pot limit.
in NL you can go allin at any time so weaker players in NL will go allin and just let the card fall as they do instead of playing the flop like you have to in pot limit. |
