Went to my first race tonight - the Busch Series race in Charlotte. I have to tell you, I really, really enjoyed it. It was a lot more fun that I thought it would be.

We're going to the Nextel Cup series race tomorrow. Go #48!

I went to a NASCAR event once. Pocono Raceway (or whatever) in Pennsylvania. It was a mess. So much Coors Light all over the place. I helped a friend out who got stuck w/ an extra ticket.

I'll NEVER be going again.

My dad's a huge fan, and I ended up going to a race in Delaware at Dover Downs. The experience was pretty fun, but as bad as this sounds, the only exciting parts are the crashes...

i didnt think that nascar was particularly interesting until a few years ago. i find it amusing on tv, but i cant ever see the interest in going to an event, other than the massive tailgating.

If you think Nascar is exciting, try watching a Formula One race.

There is a reason why Formula One is the world's premier motorsport category.

NASCAR is the most profitable sport in North America, to which I ask: why? How exciting can it be watching people race a car around an oval track, bumping others in their way and risking their life?

the best kind of racing to me seems like le mans/endurance racing. seeing the different classes running together on the same track is pretty interesting, just for all of the passing. in f1, there is none of that. it is just tremendously boring to me, and im not sure how a guy like schumacer can make 60 million a year.

on the subject of nascar, i thought this past weekends race was unbelievably boring. i dont think that a short track like martinsville really showcases the sport.
