Default Put a glossary of terms "sticky" in the backer section

BAP, cake, heeb, all that shit. I'm sure Fildy or SWA (with some proofreading and editing) could do it.

Not a bad idea. I've thought about adding glossary here for a while... terms most of us take for granted, but someone newish would have no idea what we are talking about.

Default Terminolgy: I'll do it

I have some time on my hands kids, and I am a decent writer. I'd be happy to do this, but I need contributions on terms that I am not familiar with.

Terms I have thought of and can do on my own:
ATC
OOP
VPIP
PFR
23/18 (PT numbers)
Stakeback
CO
CR
CB
CC
UTG
UTG +1
Hijack (1 right of CO)

Terms I need others to do...
Cake
Heeb
BAP

Other terms you think we should include?

I think Shabi was asking for a glossary in the backers section of all Backing terms.... not overall poker terms

I think your right. I'd like to expand on the ide though. There are a lot of terms that people new to online poker should know to help them get more out of (or contribute to) a forum.

I'll organize it by category and give it to TP to use as he wishes.

I imagine that a Heeb will generally be laid out with details explaining when these jumps would be made. Is there a "standard" pay back schedule, ie. BR size or time, or is that just agreed upon on a case by case basis?

although shabi's idea is a ok one do we really need that here? I mean really is this a staking site? I dont think you want to turn this into a PTP and how often do investments go up that you need to refer to list?

IDK I think a general thread with all terms is better, you can put it in different sections like.

hand terms

xxxxxxxx
xxxxx
xxxxxxx
xxxxxxxx

staking terms

xxxxxx
xxxxx
xxxxx
xxx

etc etc.

I found this as a really good def of cake: means essentially that I will reimburse you for any losses you incur in this stake, from my share of the profits in my next BAP (or any future BAP) that you invest in. It comes from my profits and not any of the other investors.

usually after you double BR you PM the investors to see when he wants to quit, and then some are a time frame like week long ones. Actually most are a time frame TBH, friend of mine just did I think a 2 week one but he turned $100 into over $400 and decided to end early.

Yeah, regardless of how it is organized, a list of various poker specific terms is a good idea.

Thanks for the Heeb clarification.

EDIT: I personally like the idea of a single glossary, accessible from the main page.

Thanks Drew.

There were a lot of FCP specific items in there. There are a number that should be included on the list though.

Feel like cleaning it up to make it a little more TP friendly, and possible adding some of OUR terms... you know, like SWA.

Good point. I have editted out the terms that I don't think we really need. I'll post a list, broken down by category (general poker, backing, online lingo, TPF lingo) in the next few days.
