Put a glossary of terms "sticky" in the backer section
BAP, cake, heeb, all that shit. I'm sure Fildy or SWA (with some proofreading and editing) could do it.

Not a bad idea. I've thought about adding glossary here for a while... terms most of us take for granted, but someone newish would have no idea what we are talking about.

I would be happy to help with this as Im sure Jhill will also. Just let me know if you guys need anything, Im sure a quick google search of staking terms though would give all the info you need for the list.

Terminolgy: I'll do it
I have some time on my hands kids, and I am a decent writer. I'd be happy to do this, but I need contributions on terms that I am not familiar with.
Terms I have thought of and can do on my own: ATC OOP VPIP PFR 23/18 (PT numbers) Stakeback CO CR CB CC UTG UTG +1 Hijack (1 right of CO) Terms I need others to do... Cake Heeb BAP Other terms you think we should include?

I think Shabi was asking for a glossary in the backers section of all Backing terms.... not overall poker terms

I think your right. I'd like to expand on the ide though. There are a lot of terms that people new to online poker should know to help them get more out of (or contribute to) a forum.
I'll organize it by category and give it to TP to use as he wishes.

I imagine that a Heeb will generally be laid out with details explaining when these jumps would be made. Is there a "standard" pay back schedule, ie. BR size or time, or is that just agreed upon on a case by case basis?

although shabi's idea is a ok one do we really need that here? I mean really is this a staking site? I dont think you want to turn this into a PTP and how often do investments go up that you need to refer to list?
IDK I think a general thread with all terms is better, you can put it in different sections like. hand terms xxxxxxxx xxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxxxx staking terms xxxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxx etc etc.

I found this as a really good def of cake: means essentially that I will reimburse you for any losses you incur in this stake, from my share of the profits in my next BAP (or any future BAP) that you invest in. It comes from my profits and not any of the other investors.

usually after you double BR you PM the investors to see when he wants to quit, and then some are a time frame like week long ones. Actually most are a time frame TBH, friend of mine just did I think a 2 week one but he turned $100 into over $400 and decided to end early.

Yeah, regardless of how it is organized, a list of various poker specific terms is a good idea.
Thanks for the Heeb clarification. EDIT: I personally like the idea of a single glossary, accessible from the main page.

This was taken from the first post in a thread on FCP by CobaltBlue.
If I need to take this down, or give more specific credit, let me know TP or mods. But I think this is a good overall list that we can add to, esp. for staking/backing terms. < = less than (typically used to sarcastically compare a losing hand to a winning one...in other words, denotes a suckout or coinflip) <3 = heart (look at it sideways) +1 = originally intended to add 1 post to a user's count, but now sometimes akin to QFT in addition to bumping the thread and "rating" it highly 1.4 = Phil Laak's nickname for Antonio Esfandiari (Esfandiari won $1.4m in the LAPC) 2+2 = popular poker publisher and forums 4 = mocking name for 2+2 AINEC = And It's Not Even Close AIPF = all-in pre-flop AP = Absolute Poker APPT = Asia Pacific Poker Tour barrage = FCPers agree to inundate MTTs on various poker sites in order to increase the glory of the community BAW = Bored At Work BBFIDTS = Bad Beat Forum Is Down The Street BBV = Brag, Beat, Variance (forum section or thread typically devoted to non-strategic hand histories) Big Game = usually a $4k/$8k mixed poker game that takes place in Vegas with some of the best players in the world Bill Fillmaff = Phil Hellmuth parody Bob = FCP Info (the guy that handled FCP's poker room and promotions) BR = bankroll brazillion = FCP's large imaginary number of choice broccoli = rigged Charter Member = an FCP member who signed up in fall 2005 for special promotions Circuit, The = CardPlayer's former poker radio show Clarkmeister = in LHE, a bet/fold (or sometimes bet/call) line when HU and OOP on a river after the 4th flush card hits (a specific type of "value-bluff") cold-deck (n) / cold-decked (adj) = originally an indication that the deck was rigged, but now more oftenly used interchangeably with cooler conditioning = knowingly folding the best hand in order that your opponents don't see that you slowplayed converter = tool that makes hand histories easier to read cooler (n) / coolered (adj) = a poker situation where one player has a very strong but second-best hand Corporation = a group of pro players that took on Andy Beal in a series of highest-stakes HULHE games CP = CardPlayer DFTPWYGB = don't forget to post when you go broke DGN = Digital Gaming Network (the defunct FCP poker room's second network) Dise = ParadisePoker DN = Daniel Negreanu donk = strategically bad/oblivious poker player donkament = derisive name for tournament donkbet = a bet that's made out of position by someone who didn't have the betting lead in the previous round (sometimes shortened to 'donk') DS = Deep Stack/Double Shootout DUCY? = Do You See Why? Feel like cleaning it up to make it a little more TP friendly, and possible adding some of OUR terms... you know, like SWA.

Good point. I have editted out the terms that I don't think we really need. I'll post a list, broken down by category (general poker, backing, online lingo, TPF lingo) in the next few days.
