Default TPF League III - Official Thread...

This is the official summary thread for the TPF League III. Below are the official rules, the schedule, and the confirmed signup list. Any questions you have are probably answered in this post, so please keep reading.

Once the league begins, all Tourney Results and the Overall Standings will be maintained in the second post in this thread.

____________________________

RULES:
1) The league consists of 20 events - all Private tourneys. The password for every tourney (unless stated otherwise) is: talkingpoker
2) Each event has a $10+$1 buy in and payouts based on the standard Poker Stars MTT payout schedule (this is the minimum buy in allowed for Private Tourneys at Poker Stars).
3) The one time (optional*) League Entry Fee is $20, payable to to TalkingPoker (city = Indialantic) via Poker Stars transfer. To join the league, transfer $20 to TalkingPoker and then post your Stars screen name in this thread. Once your transfer has been confirmed, you will be added to the participant list below.
4) The winner of each league event is awarded points based on their place in the event (see points distribution list below).
5) Overall point leaders at the end on the 20 league events will be awarded portions of the prize pool as described below.
6) TP is once again adding $100 to the League Prize Pool. This money will be set aside for a Tournament of Champions for the Top 9** finishers in the league. This will be a $100 freeroll at Stars held on Sunday, 12/10/06 at 9:30 PM ET.

*You are welcome to play in any or all events with us without actually being a part of the league, but in order to earn points and be eligible for the prize money and the Tournament of Champions, you need to pay the $20 League Entry Fee.

**If necessary, ties for the 9th spot of the T.O.C. will be broken as follows:
1) Highest Average Score for events scored in (person to get to total with least scores)
2) Highest Individual Score (if still tied)
3) 2nd Highest Individual Score (if still tied)
4) Next Highest Individual Score (if still tied) and so on...

____________________________

LEAGUE PAYOUTS ($420 Prize Pool + $100 T.O.C.):
Based on the overall points total from each's players best 8 finishes:

1st (40%): $168
2nd (30%): $126
3rd (20%): $84
4th (10%): $42
PLUS the $100 Tournament of Champions Freeroll for the Top 9* finishers!

Note: There will be no tie-breakers for the Top 4 league payouts. For example, if the players in 3rd and 4th place have the same total score, the prize money for the two spots will be added up and split evenly between them. If two people tie for 4th, they will split the 4th place money.

MORE:
Remember, the Individual event buyins are $10+$1, but you don't HAVE to play in them all if you unable to or just don't want to. Only your top 8 point scores will count toward your overall total.

Lastly, just to make sure everyone understands how this works: If someone enters a given event and is not a paid member of the league, they will still generate points (their play will add 10 points to that night's prize pool), but they will NOT recieve points for their finish. Instead, those points will be awarded to no one. For example, if a non-league player wins an event, there will be no 1st place points awarded for that event.

In other words, even if you aren't in the league, you are more than welcome to play in one or more of the tourneys with everyone. You simply won't be eligible for the prize money at the end of the League.

I don't know if I will buy-in for the league this time. But I will for sure hit a few of the tournaments. I've pulled most of my money offline, so to play, I'd have to get Rob to back me for most of them.

I am in. I'll transfer my money tonight.

Not sure how many of these I will be able to play, but what the hell. The ones I get to play will be like taking candy from a baby since you all are pretenders anyway. Reminds me of a white girl trying a .

edit- $20 transfered.

I'm pretty certain I will join, but my work travel schedule may impact the decision. Right now we use Macs, but there's a good chance we'll be on PC laptops by the time I'm on the road (mid-Oct) so the fact that I'll be able to play on 'Stars while on the road will tip the decision, but I may not know for sure until closer to the end of the month, so bear with me for a week or so.

ChipFish Paid.

OR NOT?

Here's a note I got back from STARS

Hello,

For money transfers, we require that both the sender and recipient of
the transfer have full account information registered to their
accounts. Although your account information is complete,
the player to whom you are transferring does not have complete
information in their account.

We have sent a request to this player to have them update their
account information.

When this player has updated their account information, please make
another request through the client. We will then be happy to verify
the information and process the transfer.

Regards,

VeronicaC

I won't be in the league, but will be joining for the O8 and Stud8 games, and hopefully they get Razz and HORSE up by then too.

I emailed them and they don't have them yet (officially) BUT there are some other private events set up for at least one other forum in HORSE. So, if it still is not officially rolled out before we need it maybe we can get them to set them up specially for us. I did make mention that this was our thrid season and all events have been at PokerStars.

I have no idea what this was about. I've had "complete information" there since Day 1. I see it went through eventually.

Yeah, I e-mailed them. and they said it was a mistake?????
I guess they have someone actually check each transaction, and for whatever reason, it didn't go through the first time.
I guess it's a good thing.

But either way, it went through.
