Default Why not to "all in" when you have to leave a tourney

This only applies if you care about what you place to begin with...

PokerStars freeroll this afternoon 6103 entrants. I was in it for an online league that I just joined. Within the first 45 minutes, the field was at about 2800 (I think) and I was up to over 20,000 in chips and I had to go to work so I had to shut down. I just went back in to see what I placed and I WAS STILL IN IT 2 hours later.

About 25 minutes into the tourney I got moved to a table with one of the "I've got to go" guys, and he was doing the all in thing. I doubled off him three times and took him out.

So not only did I build my chips from someone who should have just hit post and fold, but I also posted and folded to 146th place. Not great, but I knew I wasn't going to be able to play it all, so this was a great result this time. If only I didn't have to go to work.....hmmmmm

This also illustrates the need to play tight early. I once lost power during a 20 man SNG for twenty minutes. Had an average stack, came back 20 minutes later, field was cut from 18 to 12 and I ended up winning.

league.....the one I just signed up for, you just go around and play freerolls at various sites and then report back to them on their website how many people were in and what your place was and then they keep track of the leaders, and the top 50-100 or something get into a private freeroll ($100 prize I think).

there are others (like the one being planned here) that are $5-$20+ buyin weekly/montly events. You get points as you go and the top three get a prize of some kind.

Default Mind sharing more details?

Are you comfortable sharing the URL?

Are there really that many freerolls available?

looks pretty cool, I only did two this month but I will give it a run next month.

And YES there really are that many freerolls out there .

I didn't post the link originally because these leagues are essentially driven by affiliate links. They pick freerolls at a variety of sites so players have to sign up for all of them to play in the league.

So, I posted the link, but for those sites that TP has links for, sign up with him first .

Also, in my search for tourneys at bars/charity events in my area, I stumbled on

Doesn't have many areas up and running, but for those who want to play live but don't live near a casino, this could be cool.
