B&M card rooms
i have played in a few b&ms, and i was just wondering how you guys would rate tem, and other ones that you have played in.
foxwoods- big room, long wait at times for low limit games. good mix of games, as you can get holdem from 2/4 up, omaha8 from 2/4 full kill and up, and stud from 1/3 up to 75/150. it is the only casino card room within a couple of hours from my house, so it is th eone that i go to most often. mirage- reasonable sized room, almost all holdem. maybe five tables of stud and omaha combined. he starts at 3/6. nice room, decent players, but nothing special at the low limits. lowest o8b game was 5/10 with a kill. imperial palace - i think there were about six tables there. 2/4, 3/6, 4/8, and 1/2 blind no limit game. shitty room (if you could call it that). the games were usually full, and the competition was a little bit soft. bellagio - nice room, but the lowest limits are a bit higher, at 4/8 for holdem, and 20/40 with a kill for o8b. players arent really much better than the mirage per say, but they are a little bit better. i am really looking forward to mohegan sun re-opening their poker room. just having another option around will be nice, and hopefully that might put a little bit of pressure on to re-adjust the rake structure. (at foxwoods it was capped at $4, but that came out with $40 in the pot, in vegas it was still capped at $4, but with $60 in the pot.) |

Vegas rooms
Good thread. Here's my take
Mandalay Bay: Higher limits than the other rooms (min is 4/8 with a half kill) but a beautiful, large room with skilled dealers, hot waitresses, and a classy atmosphere. Tournaments have a good structure. Less dead money than at … Luxor Smaller, more crowded room. At slower times, tables will have prop players. Daily Freeze out tourneys are a joke, with blind escalating at ridiculous rates. 10 hours of live play qualifies for a decent size freeroll. 2/4 game is beatable, but less dead money than at … The Excalibur My regular room in Vegas. I should challenge myself more and try to raise my earn rate, but the 2/6 game is almost a sure thing. Bad beats/high hands entitle you to spin a wheel for a small jackpot. Sometimes populated by local rocks, at which point it’s time to move on. Orleans Enormous room. Off strip location means many more locals, some better than others. Large game selection. I play the larger field weekend night tourneys, which attract some very good players. |

is the 2/6 at excalibur a fixed limit or is it 2-6 spread limit?
the last (and only) time i was in vegas i was staying at the mirage, so i didnt really have any reason to go off strip to play, but the next time i am there i will definitely be more adventurous. |

Maybe my world of B&M is limited, but I find nothing wrong with the card room at the Troicana in Atlantic City with the exception that it has an open end of it which is next to a bank of slot machines and being a non-smoker I hate the smoke that filters into the card room, the card room itself is non-smoking. Lots of tables, WIDE variety of limits on most nights, watresses are around often enough to keep my drink filled and FOR THE MOST PART the dealers don't put up with any shit from the idiots, I have seen people escorted out of the place for getting out of line. I have posted this complaint before, but it 's worth repeating, they are like everywhere else I have played, THE CHIPS ARE FILTHY!! Someone should really look into that aspect of the game, and I am not being a priss here, the chips are disgusting.

Excalibur game
It's a spread, making it all the more fun and profitable. You also get people calling $6 bets on the hope they'll hit a mirace card for a high hand jackpot worth .... $20. Little unclear on the Pot Odds concept.

CNE Casino in Toronto....
I'm taking the time off of work and strictly playing there every-day... It's a joke.

What about SoCal?
I've heard a lot of about Commerce and the Bike, but have never had the opportunity to play in Southern California. Anyone have any experiences to share?

I wish I could go to vegas. Only have experience with 2-5 holdem and 5-10 in Toronto.

i am going to be in the anaheim/LA area next month, and if anyone had info about the card rooms there i would be interested in hearing it.
im not as interested in any structural changes, as those are easy enough to adjust to, but just having a basic review of the casinos out there would be great. |

Theres tons of Casino's here in Southern California, I live in San Diego and have played a 3-6 game at Viejas Casino, they have a pretty nice card room there. Havn't been anywhere else though besides the Card Rooms in Vegas.
