Default Publicized Tournaments

You keep hearing about the WSOP and the WPT. Atleast those are the only two that I keep hearing abuot on TV anyway (hence the post in this forum). Anyone else think that they need to start having a LARGE invite only tournament with a buy-in? like 500 invites, or 1000 invites would be cool. And you could win an invite just by winning money in ANY poker tournement, online, in a casino, anything. That would be fun to watch.

How would they pick the 500/1000 if you just need to win a tournament to qualify? Sounds kind of arbitrary to me.

Sounds like you are describing the Professional Poker Tour, which just started a month or so ago, I believe.... 200 invited players.

Not sure how interesting an invite only tourny is.

I like seeing the internet qualifies and people from all walks of live play the tourny of their lives and make it to the final tables. If you take away that its pointless.

Hey,

The UPN series is... well I don't like it.

There's also the Canadian Poker Tour. It's I think a series of 5 or 6 tournaments from coast to coast. I think the buyins aren't that much, maybe 300 bucks. I believe a few final tables are going to be televised on a Canadian Sports Network.

Cheers,

Gutzz
