Default Fanatsy Poker Prizes

Disclaimers: I don't make muck in rakeback, and we are not talking about much money here, but...

Aparently FTP prizes (hats and jerseys) are a awarded to you in the form of the equivelent number of FTP points (never won one before, news to me). After inquiring, I find out that cashing those in will affect my rakeback.

On a principle sort of thing, it seems stupid that they would offer these as prizes and then ding me (any amount) for them because I get rakeback. This is not random FTP store shopping, they offered this swag.

No big deal, but I was disappointed in the customer service aspect of it.

I just got this reply. It makes sense, so I'll shift it from the "unfair" column to the "sucks for me" column.

Full Tilt does not pay players rakeback directly. There are a number of rakeback affiliates who offer players up to 27% rakeback if you sign up to Full Tilt Poker through their site. In other words, rakeback is not a promotion offered directly by us. All the promotions that we, Full Tilt Poker, offer can be found on our website:

Hopefully this explains and answers your question and I do apologize if this causes any inconvenience for you.

I don't know how that response makes you feel any better... but yeah, that's how it works.

I agree that it's stupid they they "charge" you (or me, as the affiliate - however you want to look at it) for "prizes" you win. I can understand being charged for redeeming points, but "prizes" in a contest like this should be 100% on them, IMO.

Yeah, it sucks. However, I was happy to hear an actual explaination, rather that a "tough, that's how it is".

I was just hoping for that hats to give as prizes at my home game. For the FTP points, I want to save up for something really good. Getting back into the cash games is helping with that and rakeback.

Yeah, it's pretty easy money, if you have any idea how to play the particular game. There are so many ghosts. The NLH events are actually tougher because more people play them and it is easier to go broke in one hand.

I played a razz event, and my entire table was sitting out, i raised every hand for the better part of an hour and managed to FT, only scored like 50 but not bad for a game I don't particularly know how to play.

So they will just put x Points in your account, and if you want the hat you have to purchase it yourself? When will these points be put in our accounts?

I didn't bother to ask. Probably not until the event is over, which due to the unique format of the ME would be in November.

I don't think that's how it works. You should only be charged when you USE the points.

Like, your RB hit this month wasn't for "Points" - It was for "Player Added," which is what they use to cover added money, freerolls, etc. I wonder if you actually get double charged for this promo - $x for the value of being in the freeroll (Say $100 in prizes and 100 entries = $1 per player) and then AGAIN when you use the points you win. That would suck.

Also, it wasn't $32 in RB. It's $32 in rake... which is $8.64 in RB.
