Default Worst Day of Poker.... limit players

Having a shitty day and I was wondering.... What's your worst day of poker?

Let's stay with limit and give me your losses in terms of BB/hour.

Today, I'm down 10BB/hr so far. However, it could be a lot worse because I'm multitabling. Playing 2/4 on pacific and party. Up on pacific but in my party session, I'm down 15BB/hr.

I've only recently (3 months) been keeping detailled records but I don't remember such a shitty day and there's none in my records this bad.

Wanna share your worst?? Feel free.

P.S. Why am I getting killed by Party Poker? I am getting reamed on that site. I own pacific poker on the 2/4 but party is beating me up pretty good.

Just the swings I guess, or are party players that good?

worst session i ever had was at 15/30...lost 2 grand in about 6 hours, so a little over 10 BB/hour. that was the last time i've ever played cards drunk. So, while it was a short term loss, I think the lesson learned became a long term gain

Default Worst day!?

I can't remember my WORST day, but I dropped $90 last night at the stupid ass $25 NL Tables on Party in a mere 1.5 hours. The BB there is $.50, so let's do the math:

=> Down $90 in 1.5 hours is basically losing $60/hr. Awesome.
=> $1 = 2 BB.
=> $60 = 120 BB.
=> I'm lookin strong at -120BB/hr.

Yes, that's one hundred and twenty big bets an HOUR.

LOL.

Edited to add: Sorry, didn't know you were looking for limit-based answers.

Default Up against a straight flush

Playing 3/6 a few months back at B&M here in Seattle I caught my King high flush on the turn. When he re-raised me on the river after another spade fell, I shouldn't have capped it. At least he bought me a drink when he hit the high hand jackpot with his straight flush.

That day cost me me about $110 in under 90 minutes, which isn't really isn't so bad considering, but it sure hurt at time.

3 years ago when I was just starting to play and still had no idea how to take care of a bankroll I sent money off via WU ($300) and was looking foreward to playing 3/6 and sng's and I really didn't have alot of money to spend on poker and WU is a pain in the ass (none of my credit cards work and I won't hook my bank account up to anything), I raced home on that Friday and started playing 3/6 and a SNG at the same time, started playing at about 7PM my time and at 10 PM my time had about 30 bucks left in my account and was completly bummed out, I will never forget it. I'm not sure how to figure the bets per hour there since the SNG's were involved, but I was never so dissapointed per hour, thats for sure. Like Jimmytheg said, it's a lesson I have never forgotten.

Yeah, limit only. The chance for more losses is greater in NL. I've dropped like 140 BB/hour in NL game. Got it back quick though.

Default Worst Day! Bah! Buck up you wimp!

The worse single day loss of my career so far has been $1200. It was when I first started playing. I had no discipline. I would lose a little at .50/1 or 1/2, and jump up to 2/4, 3/6, 5/10.. you get the idea, trying to win it all back. This worked a few times, but eventually it caught up to me and I blew my whole stack one night (It was actually probably 3AM). It was a disaster and devistating. It was also the best day of my poker career so far. It taught me the important lesson of not playing over my bankroll, and playing within my limits.

The worse loss since then was a 50BB slide. If you are playing two tables and have a bad night you can easily lose this much. It was well within my bankroll and the next night I came back and had the best night of my life, an 83+BB night! Sweet!

The loses that are scary are the long term ones. I have had a two week period where nothing went right, and I just kept losing. I have heard of much longer periods of this happening. You will go through this at some point in time, and you will not like it, and you might start doubting yourself. Just keep playing your game and hang in there.

Now my advice. If you a crying about a small loss like the one you had last night, you need to get a better mindset about the whole thing or you will end up destroying your bankroll at some point in time. You really need to realize that some night are going to be bad, but it is all a part of the long term variance of the game. So get with it, do not sweat the small losses, and do not get overly excited about the large wins. Keep within your limits, and keep your emotions under control. Now Get back out there and win!

I can't ever remember having such a bad run of cards. I do happen to remember winning 3 consecutive sit-n-gos at UB in under 5 hours though (didn't mean to rub it in).

I'm not sure if I had a lesson to be learned today or not. At least I learned that somedays suck worse than others. I don't think I played terribly. Just got drawn out on, couldn't hit a flush draw, 1010 met a flop of KKQ everytime. Shit like that. I probably could've saved a few bets here or there but that leaves me at about 9 BB/hr so I guess I just have to grin and bear it.

I lost 70 BBs in about an hour and a half once. It was the sickest session of my life.

Oh yeah - and this was $10/20.

my worst sessions live have probably been about 10bb/hour. but really that is just one or two pots that you get on the wrong end of, so that isnt all that bad.

Regarding BB, about 60 in two hours on .50/1, a horrible day. Never want to play those table again. I know there's a strategy for those tables, but could never get it to work for me. I've moved up limits a decent amount and it seems like i'm taking less of a risk.
