Default Getting crushed after cahsing out

I play at Full Tilt poker and I was just wondering if it was just me or what.

I have seen it heard it and felt it myself when you cash out you normally get crushed for a while being hit out on and things like that has anyone else noticed this

What you are referring to is the "cash out curse".

It is not really a curse however, all it is is playing scared with an underfunded bankroll. Suckouts will happen with 50 big bets in the same frequency that they will if you have a 10,000 BB cushion, they just obviously hurt more with less bankroll.

PS. Welcome to the forum.

I claimed these things were true a kinda long while back as well, and felt the same way u probably do, that the site is mad at me for cashing out - now i realize how silly it is and they could definetely care less, along with how much unecessary work the site would have to do in order to actually cause u to lose money on purpose.
There is no way the "cash out curse" is real, and if u play long enough u will agree as u will hopefully cash out, and continue to win afterwards sometimes soon. Don;t worry it will happen.

Play enough poker. I NEVER cash out and I get crushed quite frequently. Last night for instance. (Shameless bad beat/downswing/crybaby story coming)

Dropped 35 bets 2 tabling 5/10. Had aces 4 times and lost big pots 3 out of 4 times. There's some chance it could happen again tonight. But it's not because of cashing out. It's poker.

Would a billion dollar company really care if you cash out your $85?

I personally think the cash out curse is due to your mental state.

You are up, thus you are playing more aggressively. You are seeing more flops, you are stealing more often, and you are playing back more often. This in turn will lead to big pots for you, but also for big swings in the opposite direction as well. When you buy in for 200 and sit at the 1/2 tables and are up 600, yopuhave 800. You may drop 150 dollars on some aggressive play, still end up with a nice session and not realize you just dropped 150 bucks. If you drop that when you only have 200 you notice it.

Now imagine winning that 600 but cashing it out, then playing the same style youve begun playing, losing that same 150.... it looks a lot worse now.

Give me a break. Probably everybody thinks that at some point. I think I've heard things that are far more asinine than this from "select members" of the forum.

I cashed out once to make up for losses at AC and ended up going on a losing streak after that.
It is definitly a mental thing rather than a site.
They don't care if we cash out or not.
They just want to keep us playing to get their rake.
I we stay even all the time, they make money.
Does not really seam fair to me, lol

My favorite thing is when somebody gets rivered, they say something like "PokerStars is a joke." Then someone else will chime in with "not as bad as Party". Yet another will say, "Full Tilt is the worst of all." NO! you all just suck.

Well, I think it's idiotic to edit your own post in order to point out a mistake you made instead of, you know, editing your post to FIX said mistake!!!

Please don't call people idiots for posting very legitimate questions. I know you only cash in, so you wouldn't know anything about the cash out curse, but it's a legitimate topic of discussion for the rest of us.

As for my opinion on the subject: I'm with the othes here that say it can be explained from both math and one's state of mind, btw. It's not the site punishing you for taking money out. I'm confident in that.

Actually, it's not that they suck... it's that they have no concept of simple mathematics. For some reason, they thing 90% = 100%, when in reality, it only equals 90%...

Default Thanks

First of all thanks for the welcome and from what I gather and what makes sense Zybomb comments seem the most logic and I think most people would agree you dont notice a 200 dollar loss when you have 800 in front of you as you would if you had 2 or 300 in fornt of you. Thanks for all the opnions it's been a big help. As for the one who called me an idot your entilted to you opnion even ignorant people who act like you. By the responce on this post I dont seen to be alone so I guess that would make us all idots but you.
Again thanks to everyone else.

Its not a cash out curse. It is pretty much your bad play due to money you have already cashed out. Thye have already made money from the deposit and also the tournies and cash you played.

That's what is known as the deposit curse. Full Tilt has a "new deposit" tracker that alerts the "doom" switch to activate on your account when you make a deposit. They want to make as much rake off of you as possible before you lose all your money. Then they turn the switch off to let you win to keep you on their site so they can make more rake off of you.

I would like it noted that I cashed out $1000 from my Fullt Tilt account 3 days ago. I won the next day and cashed out anotehr $1000.

Sicne then though, I've lost $2000ish...

Apparently, they gave me a grace period on the first cashout, but I pushed my luck too far with the second one!
