Could Party stoop any lower?
They are really headed down the wrong track, if you ask me. Seems like they are making one bad decision after another. They are being very greedy and focusing on the SHORT TERM bottom line
BTW, for those of you thinking I'm making a fortune off this site (ahem, Aeq) - or ANY money, for that matter, you'll probably get a kick out of this... ----- Hi Giant Stride Solutions, Inc., I have been checking your Party Poker affiliate account and noticed that you have not referred any new RMPs for a while. Please be aware that you are expected to refer new RMPs at least every 60 days for your account to remain active and if you’re on MGR trackers - for you to keep the revenues of your existing players. As your affiliate manager I would like to help you to refer at least 1 RMP this month so that you can enter the new-year with your account active! The challenge is to refer at least 1 new RMP this month and at least 2 RMPs next month. This will allow you to qualify for the active affiliate’s bonanzas throughout next year and allow you to keep on receiving existing player revenues. If you do not step up to the challenge unfortunately your account will be marked inactive and your account will automatically close. In order to avoid this situation further and to reward you for your efforts – I am prepared to pay you a flat amount of $50 for the first player that you refer this month, plus you will be able to earn extra $ in this month’s bonanza that was sent to you earlier in the month. So to earn extra cash and to keep your account active refer your first player as soon as possible. Good luck! Please contact me should you have any queries. |

Thats just sad, I mean really sad.
Get us a new player or else? Wow. I would honestly delete their software and play at Stars if it wasn't called "RiverStars" for a reason.

That sucks. Unfortunately I have a feeling that all that they have done so far is just the begining.

Comments on both posts …
As for Party’s treatment of their affiliates, that’s just short-sighted. It’s particularly amusing in this case, as I can’t think of many people better qualified to bring them more business than the admin of a decent sized online poker community. Also, they’ve got to realize how hard it is for an affiliate to generate a genuine new RMP – how many online poker players don’t already have Party accounts? If TP went rogue (ha,ha) and offered us a verboten rakeback deal, and we all cancelled our current accounts, then signed back up through him with clean computers, Netteller accounts, etc, would that make them happy? Would it make us happy?
As for Penguin’s post, I have 100x more experience at Party than at Stars, but I have found the general consensus that Party is looser than Star to be true. So I’m losing on the river more often at Party than I am at Stars, but that’s OK, because when my premium hands do hold up, they hold up for fat pots. For clarification, I’m not saying anything about Party or Stars software – just a comment on the players, not the cards. |

RiverStars? You can't be serious Penguinfan.
I cancelled my account at Party just before they put in all the new software, blackjack, etc... Their customer service is fucking pitiful and I'm tired of dealing with Indians that can't speak english worth a damn. Sure they have the largest fish tank on the net, but Stars will surpass them soon enough. As somebody mentioned earlier, Stars is marketing their site way better than Party Poker. Stars has actual poker players endorsing their site on their commercials. The commercials for Party Poker are supposed to be funny, but I think they make Party look like a joke. |

You know sports betting, I give you that. But believing "RiverStars" is the same as believing online poker is rigged, the cashout curse, "doom" switch, etc... You should know better than that.

What I believe doesn't matter, what I know is I have been sucked out on at Stars more often than the numbers can possibly justify and it doesn't happen to that degree elsewhere.
I am sure it's just me, Stars is just unlucky for me so I dont' play there anymore. I once busted out of 12 straight SNG's with the better hand when the cards were turned over. 12 IN A ROW Rigged, probably not. Bad luck for me, absolutly.

Arguing the counterpoint
I can see why Party has these rules in place:
They don't want someone like TP to sign up 5-10 high volume players, and then just sit back and get fat off of Party Poker rake from now until the end of time. Affiliates are supposed to help the site grow. If you aren't brining in new players, then you aren't "doing your job." Believe me, I want a fat rakeback deal. I want people like TP, who are good, honest affiliates to get compensated for the work they put in and for advertising for the site. But I totally can see Party's point of view too. Somebody tell me why Party is wrong here. TP, explain why you think this is "short term" bottom line thinking by Party. It definitely affects their long term if longtime affiliates are getting paid nice chunks of change and not helping the site grow. Also, TP: What the fuck is "this months' bonanza" that your boy is referring to at the end of your post.

When I signed up, I was told I would get x% (it's 20-25, depending on the amount of play) of my players rake FOR THE LIFE OF THOSE PLAYERS. Maybe they had this 60 day crap buried deep in their terms and conditions, but I doubt it, because they have added all sort of other stuff over the years, so I suspect they added this too. Even if it was buried in there, I think it's shitty. They are still keeping AT LEAST 75% of the revenue generated for the players I have sent them, but that's not enough. No... Instead, their stock dips a bit and their short term knee jerk reaction as to how to increase revenue is to screw the small-time affiliates like me. I sent them quite a few of new players in the past - most of whom have moved on, but there are still some who play there. And now they want to screw me because I'm not sending fresh blood. Well, as has been stated, it's not exactly easy to get new Party Poker players when:
1. Everyone already has a Party account. 2. I'm not allowed to offer any type of rakeback or special bonus to people who sign up (affiliates who say they can are either lying or are risking losing their relationship with Party as soon as they find out). I understand your points about the pseudo-affiliates who signed up 5 big players but aren't actively promoting Party any more. But they should AT LEAST look at this on a case by case basis. I mean, I have Party listed as #1 on my list of recommended poker sites on the main page of this site: If that's not trying to promote them, I don't know what is. And I think they are very short signted to not see that. This site is growing and there is potential for me to send them a lot of business down the road. If they shut me down and stop paying me for the players that I have referred, not only will I never play there again, but I will remove their links from this site for good. And that somehow is a good thing for them? I don't think so. As for the bonanza crap, it's just some silly promo they run most months that I never qualify for anyway. Specifically, it's stuff like this (this was from September - I must have deleted the more recent emails): Hey, look... they are rewarding their big affiliates (who would be sending that many signups ANYWAY). Big surprise there. |

While I'm not allowed to offer any special incentives or rakeback or that sort of thing.... if there is anyone reading this that actually doesn't have a real money Party account (or maybe one for their spouse, for that matter) and would be interested in opening one, I would very much appreciate.
Please PM me before you do so, so I can make sure you get the max deposit bonus available (I can actually create a new code just for you) and express my deepest thanks to you personally. |

Wow.
That sucks.
If you need help, you usually generate a small "boom" in visits when you post on RGP. GL.

This reminds me... any and all of you are encouraged to talk up this site when the opportunity presents itself. I'm not saying to go crazy spamming it all over the place (why would you though?), but the occasional mention on RGP or better yet - AT THE TABLES - is a great way to get new blood here.
Last night, someone at my table mention some other forum, so I brought up this site. 5 or 10 minutes later, one of the railbirds said she had checked it out and really liked it and asked me if I wanted a "referral" because she was signing up. I told her that wasn't necessary, since I run the site, but I appreciated the offer. The point it, word of mouth is the single best way for us to make this forum grow. So start opening your mouths, people! |

Good points.
Thanks for shedding some light on the whole party/affi relationship. I definitely see your beef.

Is there anyway to get the blackjack and sidebet icons off the table at party? This really is getting annoying.

ive been keeping notebooks on approx 99% of my tourney game since april this year.
ive had at least 3 stretches where ive lost 12-14 tourneys straight on pure bad beats post-flop. 2 of these on stars, last one just this last week. thats poker. nothing to do with any site being less/more 'lucky', let alone 'rigged' in any way, or anything such. simply, due to the sheer number of hands being played at any given time on such a big online site as stars/party/etc, not to mention loose/dumb moves/calls by fish, statistically such strings of bad luck are absolutely possible, if not to be expected often.

Just go to program files find party poker then go to images and find the sidebet and BJ buttons. I deleted them and everything works fine.
