Default Question for those horrified by Party's 20% juice

First of all this only applies to the $5 buy games that charge $1 instead of 50 cents. If 50 cents is such a big deal then you probably are above your head at the $5 game to begin with.

If it's about the principal of the thing I have to ask if any of you have ever played in a low buy in live tournamnet at a B&M casino? You would think 20% is bargain basement pricing if you have.

I agree that there is no reason they can't charge 50 cents, but I don't think it's THAT big of a deal.

If two products are basically identical and but one is like 10% more expensive than another...what would you buy?

Aside from the whole cost thing, Party SNG's are one of the biggest crap shoots out there. The blinds going up so quickly means players depend more on luck than skill than a SNG on say like Stars.

On top of all that, you can clear bonuses and other sorts on SNG's at Stars, Bodog, Pokerroom, Full Tilt, etc. Which means the difference in the rake is even more.

Sure 50 cents isn't much once in a while, but if you continue to pay an additional rake over the course of a month it can add up to be a little bit.

Party's SNGs may be more of a "crap shoot" if that's what you like to call it, but if you are a good player, you should still be able to make more money on the Party SNGs.

The simple reason is that they conclude quicker than the stars tourney, which improves your hourly.

I think the general consensus is that if you think you are good enough to play in the $5+1 SNGs, you might as well play in the $10+1 SNGs, no difference in skill level.
