Poker Terms Trivia....
Ok so I've been studying up on my Poker Terms and their meanings so that I'll better understand what the hell you guys are talking about when you're limping around... lol
I need you all to give me your best ones, & I'll try my best to give you the meaning of them to see if I fully understand them; maybe you can help me out if I'm wrong As for the first one; I'll start with ...what I am at the present; Don't wanna be a "Shark" if I don't even know the meaning of it...so here it goes; tell me if I'm wrong about it. Ok I'm no shark in Poker.... but I'm one on here cus I post lots... SHARK: a good player who usually wins. A shark usually plays with a lot of n00bs (fish) & is only interested in winning money. Ok so now I need you all to help me out and give me some more Poker terms so I can see if I understand them. thx

Limping: Say you're playing 10 handed NLHE. Small and Big blind post and the first player just calls the big blind (no raise). That's "limping" into a pot.

This is by no means complete, but it's a good start for those that don't know common poker terms:

yes.
And if it's done in a 6-max limit game, I don't "watch out" for that player. I add him to my buddy list.

What is the correct definition of a bad beat according to Phil Hellmuth. (Besides any hand that he loses too) Come on you WSOP TV watchers you can do it!

Are we quizzing? I thought people were asking question they don't know the answers to. My bad. Seems kinda silly to ask questions that you already know the answer to though, doesn't it? I mean, unless someone is putting up prize money for correct answers or something (and no, I am not).

I thought the OP was asking others to post quiz questions that they could try to answer. |

A bad beat is when you were ahead preflop but ended up losing the hand correct?
|
#25
|
||||
|
||||
Not IMO. It's based on when the money goes in, not the preflop cards.
But I have no idea what Hellmuth's definition would be. I'm guessing any hand he loses where he had the lead at ANY TIME during the hand would be a bad beat in his eyes. |
