dual boot is here...
I am finally able to play on the PC sites with my intel imac. (. I am out my way out the door to get a XP SP2 disc.
Not to beat a dead horse here, but is the consensus still the NL games on party are softer than stars? And is the play still faster on party (more hands/hour)? Can I download pokertracker and pokerace HU to get running before I put money into my account on either of these sites? I got 4-5 business days for my EFT to clear on neteller. Those bastards wanted 8.9% to do it instantly. |

Yes, I believe you can have those up and running ahead of time. You may not be able to configure them fully, but you can get them started.
Are you making a new account on Party? I may be able to hook you up with a little something extra if you sign up through my link. PM me sometime... |

Goodbye Pokerroom
Alright, I can accept that all you Bill Gates loving, pc-majority market share jerks don’t care, but damn it, I am pretty psyched. As I type (on my laptop) I am installing windows XP on my intel-imac. So this means that will I have both a 220GB/1GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM, mac computer running OSX, and, accessible under a different startup option, a 20GB/1GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM pc running Windows XP. The best thing is that the partitions are distinct from each other, so any viruses the windows side gets do not affect the mac partitioned hardware. This isn’t any bullshit virtual pc crap, this is the real deal dual boot.
So I can use the mac side for everything we usually do (work, play, etc) and I can use the pc side, with the joys of prokertracker and pokerace HU, to conquer the poker world. Now if only I had the time…. |

My god, it has been years since i used a pc. Windows still blows. I was worried that this move by mac would signify the beginning of the end, but shit, I forgot just how shitty of an OS Windows is.

ran into a bit of a problem setting up the wireless connection. Took me about 30 minutes to figure it out. The password for our wireless network is the name of one of my kids and a number, but the rub is that I mispelled the kid's name when I created the password. First rate security.
But, for all you out there reading this, you can breath a sign of relief. I finally remembered how to mispell my kid's name correctly. |

I got Windows XP SP2 for $20. It usually costs around $100 but I know someone. Install took around 1.5 hrs. If you are going to do it, PM me and I'll walk you through it. But other than access to poker sites, I don't see any reason to do it.

Because windows is just so much more stable then mac.
I like using a macs (if my buddy is reading this, thanks again for letting me borrow your ibook), but pc's just have so much more software available. I really miss stars. Oh well, a month till i'm home. |
