Default Taking my shot at the 2005 WSOP...

Ok, here's my plan.

I'm going to play in 30 seat guaranteed tourney tomorrow. It's a $500+35 buy in at 3:30 PM ET. There won't be an overlay, as there are already 550+ people registered. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up giving away closer to 40 seats.

I just sat down for a $69+6 SNG satellite. If I win this, great. If not, I may try again one more time later tonight or tomorrow... otherwise I'll just buy in.

If I win a seat for the big show, yeah for me! I've already got my flights booked for Vegas from 7/5-7/16 anyway.

If I don't win a seat, I've decided NOT to play in any more satellites to the Main Event (I was thinking about playing in one of the $1000 ones in Vegas), but instead, I'll be playing in Events 43 and (44 or 45). Those are $1500 and $1000 respectively.

So, there you have it.

In the eloquent words of Mr. Shabi.... Discuss.

Selling a piece of yourself if you get in? Would you consider it? I actually have a small piece of action on a couple unknown players now, but I just can't turn down action.

Side note, you can go to a popular internet sportsbook and wager on a couple guys I know to make the final table at 100-1 odds. PLEASE EVERYONE save the "those odds are terrible" speeches, we know, it's just for fun so relax. Kinda cool to place a wager on someone you know. Both guys won their seats through Party so they obviously have some kind of skill.

Anyway TP consider auctioning off a piece here and there to get in teh main event, you'll be sorry of you don't play, you know it.

Not necessarily. I think I'll be quite happy in the smaller events.

Well, I guess I'm buying in tomorrow. Finished 3rd (bubble) in my satellite. I went out with TT, when MR. JK hit his miracle on the river, of course.

I bubbled on the $11 Rebuy at Stars for the new $500K guarantee.
$215= $500k guarantee.
$500 = $700k guarantee. WOW!

I just noticed has a $300+20 tourney tomorrow at 1:00. I might have to play in this too. It's a 10 seat guarantee and there are only 90 people registered right now. It's a $12k prize package plus 9 days of hotel at the Rio, which would be really nice. Figure that's about a $130k prize pool / $300 = 433 players to break even. Should be a nice overlay.

As for selling pieces of oneself.... I'd consider it. I've already got a backer for the 2 events I'm planning on playing in, but there is another $1000 event that week I might play in too.

Additionally, I'd consider selling part of myself for the $300+20 and/or $500+35 satellites tomorrow. If I get into the Main Event, whatever piece of me you buy tomorrow would carry all the way through, of course.

Post or PM if interested. I'm not really sure what a fair deal would be. I'm kinda new to this whole backing thing.

Rogue23.

The Interpoker tourney is up to 155 players registered and climbing... still well under the 435ish break even point...

I'm not sure. Last year, they didn't televise all of the preliminary events (like the H.O.R.S.E. event, for example - which I would have enjoyed watching), but they did show most of them (final tables, at least). The events I'll be playing in this year run at the same time as the Main Event, so I don't know if they'll film it at all. They will likely be busy elsewhere. Then again, it wouldn't be too difficult for them to film a featured table, especially if there are a couple of notables there.

In summary, I have no idea. But keep in mind, I will be walking around throughout the Main Event (I have a press pass), so there's a decent chance I'll get my ugly mug on tv once or twice. You could see me a few times last year, but you needed to know where to look.

what happens if you win a seat to the main event and your backer wants you to play the other events instead?

Also are those events during the WSOP main event for a bracelet?

I know all the other events are bracelet events obviously but wasnt sure about the events during the main event.

If I get in the Main Event and I'm still around when those events start, he gets his money back.

Last year, these were "add-on" events and were not for bracelets. This year, they are part of the official schedule and I believe they are:

Well, now that I lost all my chips with KK, I've got this whole Main Event thing out of my system.

So, that means I'll be available to play in the $1500 and the $1000 tourneys.... which, accordiong to the TV schedule I just found, will not be televised:

KK pretty much killed me in both tourneys. In the first, I lost a lot of my chips to AQ. In the second, I ran into AA.

Stupid KK.
