Default Web browsing while playing

I tend to play multiple tables *and* browse the web at the same time. Who knows WTF I'm browsing (varies from news to porn ) but the question is:

Think this takes away from your play? Do you other folks browse while you play?

I'm running an extended desktop off my laptop onto another monitor so I usually have one game on one and another on the monitor so I can have them both up, but I'm just wondering if I should be on the game and not on the web.

If you're distracted by anything, then you have to be taking away from your game at least a little.

But, I browse all of the time. If you've ever played 6-max, you'd know the game moves at a "breakneck" pace. Sometimes, I'll find myself 3-tabling 5/10, talking on AIM to Lou, and browsing TP at the same time.

It definitely takes away from the game, but when you're grinding out 10k hands / month or more as a part-time rec player, then you have to make some concessions to help you stay sane I guess.

Huh what? I'm sorry - I was looking out my office window wondering why the f*ck people buy the Scion.

What were you saying?

I usually have 2 hands going at once but sometimes I just can't concentrate that good and have to go with only one hand. My big hits usually come when I'm running two hands and I really see a massive payout. I can share the wealth of the payout if your interested next time. Maybe back ya or something. Hit me on messenger or PM me and I'll let you know wether I'm single handed or multiple handed.

I browse all the time while playing one or two tables. If I try to play more tables than that there's no way I'm browsing. I don't see how some of you guys can play 5 or 6 tables, browse, chat on IM, walk the dog, and bake a cake all at the same time. I have trouble keeping up with 3 tabling.

I miss too much information on the other players if I try to do a bunch of shit while playing/mulit tabling. How do you guys (JD, TP, Mayhem, Slim Shabi, and more...) do it? Do you just play ABC poker or what?

Ditto on that. I was watching JD, TP and Chip play mutiple tables one night and i could barely watch that many tables let alone play em.

I use PokerTracker and PokerAce to help with reads during the game. However, I don't think I'd want to play more than 2 tables of NLHE. Limit is much easier to multitable.

Now, Brian.... I know you know enough to do a search. We have a few threads floating around here, singing it's praises.

It's worth it if you play a lot of tables, use it for table selections, or are just lazy(this was my reason), otherwise use Gametime +.
