Looks like a double up may be in order.

500 Ante 4000/8000 for 14 more minutes then upward again, I would imagine 1000 Ante and 5K/10K
Time to look for that suited connector again and push with it.

Hang tough TP... just 1 Double up away from something big.
Seems like you have been grinding it out most of the day, keep it up. |

Hey all...
Just stopping in quick after eating dinner. I'm still alive, as you know, with 75k chips. That's over half the average - I'm fine. No need to panic yet. I've been short(ish) stacked for most of the day, but I'm haning in there and playing great. The AKs hand was an interesting one. I SHOULD HAVE pushed in with it from the button to pick up the blinds and antes, but after making a standard raise, I knew DevilFish (who I have been playing with almost all day) would push in with any reasonable hand. After long considerating, I decided it wasn't worth racing (I knew he had a pair)... not on the bubble anyway. We were literally at 126 players left. The table (including DevilFish and Jeff Shulman) agreed with the fold, but I still think I should have pushed preflop. Tons and tons and tons more hands to be discussed some other time... Right now, I have to get back to work. Oh, and for the record, I would have called with Aces here every time. But please leave the arguing out of the thread. It's annoying. And so is saying, "I'm not arguing," etc, so just cut it all out, please... Later. |

TP's out in 41st:
Date / Time: 2005-09-29 17:43:00 Title: Mark Petrillo Eliminated in 41st Place Log: Freddy Deeb raises to $16,000 from middle position, and Mark Petrillo calls from the small blind. The flop comes K-10-x with two spades. Petrillo pushes all in for about $54,000, and Deeb calls immediately. Deeb shows K-10 (two pair), and Petrillo shows Qs-Js (flush draw, open-ended straight draw). Petrillo needs to catch a nine, an ace, any spade, or something runner-runner to survive. Unfortunately for Petrillo, the last two cards are blanks, and Mark Petrillo is eliminated in 41st place, earning $6,000. Last edited by nflchad; 09-29-05 at 09:09 PM. |

Thanks guys.... naturally, I'm bummed. Finishing on a $2000 bubble was a little bit annoying, but that wasn't on my mind at all when I played the hand (despite what you may think from my fold on the REAL bubble). I played it correctly, and have no regrets. When the money went in, I was actually the favorite, and getting somewhat short stacked, I felt like it was time to go with it. Had I hit one of my 15 outs, I would have had over $150,000 chips and been in pretty good shape to make it to the end of the day (playing down to 27), and who knows how far after that? Oh well....
It was a great tourney, I feel like I played really well, and I've been having a really good time. No complaints from me. This will definitely not be my last WPT tourney. I LOVE playing with these guys. It's funny - I was actualy a bit nervous/anxious before we started today, but 20 minutes into it, I felt great, like I knew I would. And hours and hours into it, I was definitely comfortable. And hey, check me out: I didn't even know they took that picture. Nice face, eh? Man, that was one tough decision, but I'm confident I made the right one. |

Nice showing
$6,000 and a week in Aruba on what an $80 investment? Not too shabby!
Congratulations! |

Ok, that's funny. I just found this in the UB blog:
41 -- Mark Petrillo ("What's another two grand?") I did say that jokingly/sarcasticaly (you'd have to know me) to my friend, but I had no idea anyone else heard it, let alone decided to write it down. ha! |

ty sir. It was pretty cool hanging with the best in the world. I played all day with Devilfish, for example (until he pushed in with K5o and got busted by 88 - NOT what it says in the online reports). He's really good, of course, but I wasn't afraid of him (maybe because he's too friendly). I honestly think I can hang with just about anyone. I'm still glad I wasn't at the Grinder's table though
