That's right, kids... We're quickly approaching the 100,000th post mark here at Talking Poker, and I'm putting $1000 cash (and some other cool stuff) up for grabs! This contest is designed to reward the winner an amount of money based on how many posts he or she has contributed during the lifetime of this site. Here's how it works: SHOW ME THE MONEY

BIG $$$ BONUS
If the winner guesses the EXACT MINUTE that the 100,000th post is made, I will pay them TEN TIMES the Base Amount shown above, up to $1000!!! In other words, if your guess is January 2, 2007 at 3:45 AM and the 100,000th post is made at EXACTLY 3:45 AM on January 1st, then you win ten times the amount shown above, based on your starting post count. You still only get one prize pack though - not 10.

The runner up (second closest guess) will win a small TP Prize pack, including the following loot:

*Over the years, a number of posts/threads have been deleted for various reasons - duplicate posts, SPAM, and so on and so forth. Because of this, the number of posts listed in the TalkingPoker.com Forum Statistics section at the bottom of the main page does NOT match the numbers you see in URLs for post IDs. When I started typing up this post, for example, the Stats box showed 96,688 posts, but the most recent post was this one from Reel Deal, made just a couple of minutes earlier:


For the purposes of this contest, even though it will be a little bit harder to track, we are going to use the number in the Statistics box on the main page (96,688 in this example), and NOT the actual number shows in the post IDs (97,363). This way, we're celebrating the 100,000th legitimate post and not the 675 and counting posts that have been deleted.


Fine Print
In order to be eligible for this prize, the following must be true when this contest begins (right now):
---You must have GREEN Rep
---You must have made at least 1 post during November, 2006.

For the purposes of this contest, all times will be Eastern Time (GMT-5).

In order for a guess to be valid, it must include a month, day, and exact time (hour and minute).

One guess per person. Multiple guesses will be ignored.

If two people's guesses are the same number of minute off from the winning time, the person who posted their guess in this thread FIRST will be declared the winner.

I reserve the right to deem anyone ineligible to win this contest for any reason, especially if I believe there is anything shady going on. In other words, don't try to manipulate the results by going on a posting spree or deleting posts you have made or anything like that. I'm not stupid, and I will be researching the winner's recent history on the site before declaring him/her the official winner.

If for whatever reason the winner is declared ineligible, then, I will still award the prize, but to the next closest ELIGIBLE person.

The same is true for the bonus - No funny stuff. If you hit it, great, but don't force it. For example, if the 100,000th posts happens to be yours at the exact minute of your guess, consider yourself ineligible for the bonus, and possibly for the Base Prize as well.
