It's okay. One time I tried to go negative on your ass and accidentally clicked positive. So, it evens out.

Why does the rep point stats only give you the latest 10? I wouldn't mind keeping a record of all of them btw.

You have the most posts in this thread, but the least amount of pictures.

Ok...who's the wiseguy that brought my rep points down again by leaving me this comment? *sigh*

I'm not ever going to reach the green light....might as well just give up.

I thought you had a legitimate shot at it until tonight's tirade. Funny thing is, I was instinctively about to leave negative rep for (that very much deserves it), but decided not to, because I know how powerful my clicks are and didn't want to move you too far in the wrong direction. Not 2 minutes after I close that thread, I see this post, with you complaining about having a red light still.

Gee... I wonder why.

Does the number of rep points you receive depend on your post count or on your rep yourself?

Would it not be a good idea to see "Who" is leaving positive and negatives?

Yes, I think it would not be a good idea. .

This is certainly open to discussion though.

If people want to "sign" their rep in the comments field, so be it. But if it's not anonymous, I think it could lead to unnecessary problems, flame wars, etc.

What do you see as the added benefits, Chip?

Good point...
I didn't think I deserved a "Negative" in the post a pic of your pet thread...
so yes.. that would have just escalated into a 'flame' war...

I got one in that thread too... from you, as it turns out. Interesting. Good thing I'm a big enough man to not have to flame back, cause I could put a serious hurting on your rep if I wanted to

Anyway, as I just posted in that thread, "Use your own criteria/logic when giving out + and - Rep... not someone else's."

Yes, I saw that. Hence my reply to that post in the other thread and then this post here...

Or maybe I'm missing your point...

Nah... I missed the point...
I didn't see the post in the other thread....

This is getting complicated... Going to start drawing out a flow chart to help follow along.

Anyways...
Tried to give you a "positive" in this thread... Above the post I said "Good Point" in.
But it wouldn't let me... said something about spreading it around first.

Maybe I'll be "Good" Chip tonight... and post something contributive.

Good Chip? Who is he? Haven't seen him around these parts in AGES!

You have to hit up like 10 people before you can give the same person rep again. Maybe I should lower that to 5. No worries man... it will all work out in the end.

Eh.... to each their own, I guess.

I kinda like "Poker Talking Contributing Chip" more than "Anything from Stirring the Pot to Wreaking Havoc Chip," but maybe that's just me...

Ok guys... here's what I'm wondering: We've had the User Rep system turned on for about 3 and a half weeks now. Is it working? It it adding positive value to the forum, or is it only adding drama?

Clearly some people don't like to get negative rep. I'm sure no one does, of course, but sometimes when people get it, it leads to angry posts, negative rep wars, and that sort of thing.

I'm leaning towards saying that it's working. ESPECIALLY when looking through the SPAM section (and sports bets, etc, etc), people can tell at a glance if someone is trustworthy or not. I know most people only have a single green bar of rep right now, which doesn't differentiate things much, but in time, that should change... If everyone could get into the habit of leaving a handful of rep (good and bad, as the case may be), every day, the system will work itself out, and in a few months, we'll have some significant differences.

As I've said before, I can also tweak the "rules" that say how much Rep giving power people have, and so on, but I think the defaults are pretty good...

Hmmm... maybe I should make a poll for this. Duh. Ok, coming soon.
