Funny... cause I think I'm going to have to start CBing a lot less - at least against the "regulars." I hate to do that though, since it worked (past tense) so very, very well for me. But for the guy who check raise me a lot, I may have to check behind more often. It really pains me to not CB though.

Lik in this hand, if I check the flop and the turn bricks, you're going to lead at the turn. So then what? Fold? Bluff raise?

TP if I were you I would start playing 2/4 and rebuild and get your confidence back.
I cbet alot just like you, but I do change my sizes up alot, (1/2 - full pot) with 2/3 being the norm.
I think you could def. vary your play more, seems like its a little too mechanical right now, and you def. can check behind a few flops, you don't have to try to win every hand.
I know you know most of this but just keep it in mind, and vary your play more, also playing 2/4 for awhile would prob be a good idea.

Good advice, and much appreciated.

About my play being mechanical, to an extent you are right... and I think that's because it had worked so well for so many hands, so I figured why change it? Just play through the variance, ya know? But variance doesn't account for 100% of my struggles recently, so a change would probably be a good idea. Moving down to 2/4 is going to feel weird, I'm sure... but I think you're right - it's the best move for me for a while. Plus, it will give me new material for my next video.

So I decided to play some 2/4 NL tonight. At first, it felt weird with such small bet amounts compared to what I've gotten used to. I was even thinking "Man, it's going to take me forever to get unstuck what I'm stuck this month playing at these limits," but that is a REALLY stupid way to think about things. You can NOT think like that. My move down to 2/4 is a necessary one for me right now.

Anyway, the first thing I noticed is how much different the PT numbers for my opponents were... There were a LOT less really good players and a LOT more really bad ones. It seemed like there were 4 times as many "good" tables than I'm used to seeing.

I got off to a good start and was even getting "lucky" - By lucky, I mean that when I got all it in preflop with AA vs. KK, my AA somehow managed to win. Complete craziness, I tell you...

I got up about 1300 at my peak, and was really feeling my confidence come back (it's amazing what one good session can do for you after a bad losing streak), and then the usual bullshit started kicking in. The kicker was when I got it all in on the flop with top two vs what I was 100% sure was an overpair, and sure enough, the board paired the third flop card and *poof* $800 pot gone.

I'm just finishing up now... really having trouble leaving this one table because this dude wants to give me his stack SO BADLY... Anyway, looks like my final tally has me up a litte more then $100 for the night. Seems silly, but it sure beats the hell out of losing 2 or 3 or 4 thousand, like I have been recently.

Here is my fun graph for the night (I'd color on it , but I'm just not that talented). That sharp drop in the middle was the top two hand I mentioned. If my hand held up there, that line would be going UP instead of down and TWICE as far. I would have finished up $1000 for the night. Oh well.

I won't always lead, but, for you, a bluff-raise on the turn is very effective because people often see it as a slow played set. fold the turn sometimes too, imo.

disclaimer: i've probably only played 25k hands of nl cash, take this with a grain of salt.

Well, it's near enough to the end of the month for me and I've also completed both goals, so might as well update.

I played in a couple of the new 50 cent tourneys on stars. Won $2 in one. Played in a couple Thanksgiving freerolls that were on Doyle's Room. Made $8 bucks in those. Plus I've played in at least one league game and placed in the money for the one. A decent boost to a $100 bankroll.

You sat down at a $.50/$1 6 max limit table with a $5 bankroll? Am I reading that right?

Man... must be nice to be lucky.

but isnt a $5 heads up over your head also since thats whole bankroll, not saying you should of been in your bankroll because $5 isnt a bankroll for any level. But saying you only have $5 you cant expect to get to where you are every time so wouldnt you kinda want to have as much fun as possible with that $5? why throw it all on a game? why not put like $1 in a .05/.10 NL game or play some cheap tournies or something along those lines.

Its your money of course and not telling you what you should do with it but I know if I only had $5 to spend I would want to spread it around and enjoy it as much as possible.

this is getting off topic right now so dont want to make some big discussion about it so no reaon to make a big comment or anything.

something about the .5/.10 and below games just doesn't do anything for me, i like to take some risks and try to hit it big, which ive managed to do on a couple of occasions.

Which I assume is inevitably followed by you losing big and thus needing another $5 transfer from your friend.

But to each their own.

lol you would think, but believe it or not ive won over 1500$ online between tourneys and cash games, if i get to a decent sized bankroll ill normally cash it all out but 50$ and try to continue playing, and sometimes that doesnt work out, but its led to me having a decent amount of pocket change and i havent needed a job throughout high school thanks to poker.

I was going to play tonight and update here tomorrow, but I just don't feel like it. I haven't payed much at all over the last few days, and I think it's the semi-break that I needed. Hoping to come back strong in December.

1. Done. ~12k hands of 3/6 and 5/10 and 2500 hands of 2/4.
2. Done.
3. I think I made 3, but my TOTAL is at 4 now. Close enough.
4. Yuck. . This is why I hate monetary goals.

Edit: I guess if you count the $12k Bahamas package I won, I ended up up for the month, at least... but the bankroll definitely took a hit in November - ironically, right after I withdrew a whole bunch of money from Neteller.
