There's no audio, but the SH LHE vids are from some very well respected posters on 2+2. Not sure what the criteria is for uploading. Definitely geared towards "how-to" rather than "how should I?"
When I was sucking cock back in June (figure of speech studio, don't get your hopes up) they were a nice reassurance that life hated me and that I wasn't a complete poker moron. Take a look at a few. Also, some of the low stakes shit (maybe a lot of it, IDK for sure) is done by high stakes players dropping down for instructional purposes.

Back to my "goals" for a minute. One of the things I'm going to start doing is something I've know for a long time I should be doing, but have never done... and that's reviewing my play after each session. I'll probably just do it once every day or so, but what I'm going to do is review my 10 or so biggest winning hands and my 10 or so biggest losers. This is extremely easy to do in Poker Tracker, and the "replay" feature is great. If I'm really questioning my play on any of the hands - especially the biggest losers, I'm going to post them here and get feedback.
Starting . I realize I could do a much more in depth analysis of my play (using the "Filters"), but I'm going to hold off and only do that monthly or so. This is a good start and a big improvement over nothing. |

I'm DLing the 3/6 NL 6 max (6 tables!) video right now. I hope it has audio.
Thanks for the link - I remember you posting it long ago, but forgot all about it. |

Mostly for TP and others thathave DLed these videos.
So I decided to check one video out and see how I liked it. I downloaded the newest 3/6 NL video from Green Plastic (I think 8/4 was the date). A lot were labeled 6 max, this one wasnt, so I expected it to be full ring, but it was 6 max (most of which was 4 players, 3 players and HU). Not really my game, but whatever.... And maybe I picked a bad video, but honestly I wasn't very impressed. Did he win money? Sure... he lost on the first table, and then won a few hundred on the second table, simply by being aggressive and having opponents who hid in a shell the entire time. At one point he raised 5 pots in a row and took them all down. No opponents were playing back at him, and some were giving him gifts (like overbetting the shit out of the nuts, and underbetting on medium hands where a real bet he would have folded to) What his basic strategy was: - Raise in position with anything remotely playable - Fold decent hands out of position to raises (KJ type hands) - Continuation Bet every single time you raise preflop. (He literally checked one time out of maybe 40 when he raised preflop and was called). If called and no showdown potential, often fire the turn again - Rarely if ever stab at limped pots Heads Up - Raise 80% of SB Hands and stab at the pot post flop - Check in the BB (or fold to a raise) with most hands and hardly ever stab post flop. He lost about 100-150 at the first table (its hard to figure out totally bc he reloads every time he drops more than 2 bucks below the max) and won about 450 at the 2nd table. I would like to see him at a full ring game and see how his style adjusts. No direct questions here, but any general comments (specifically if uve seen this video) on this or any other videos of his and what theyve taught you. Like I said, maybe I picked a bad one, but I dunno....TP which video was the one that you were so impressed with?

I don't disagree with his play (it was a bit more aggro than I would have been, but I cant say I disagree), but I felt the reason he did well, was because his opponents at the 2nd table simply let him run over them. He was reraised exactly one time all game, and he was check raised on CBs maybe 3-5 times max. Now I would say the reason he played so aggro and CBed every single flop was bc of the table -- but in the other table he played the same way.
He played smart in the fact that he was doing the betting 90% of the time, otherwise he was folding (in other word he wasnt involved in big pots unless he was doing the betting -- although he was often betting empty) . But I just didnt feel I learned much from the video, and would like to see him change gears when the table adapts to him (as they should have but didnt)

So far, I've been impressed with them all. Don't get me wrong, it's not huge, earth shattering stuff, but it's enough that I've been able to literally make a small adjustment or two to my play and my PT numbers now are in the range where I've thought they should be all along.
Maybe you are beyond this and the videos won't be a help to you. I don't know. As for how much he won or lost in the session, I don't think that means anything at all. You should know that what you win or lose over 50 hands is meaningless. What DOES mean something is how in the one Full Tilt video (not his main site, I don't think) that I watched, when he sat down, two other players asked if he was going to play and when he said yes, they both left. Later on, when he was topping off, I froze the screen to sheck his balance: > $65,000. The kid is good, and he's a good teacher. Maybe you can't learn anything from him, but I know I can... MORE than I do from books. Maybe it's just because watching better suits my learning style than reading does - always has. I dunno. As for specific videos, so far I've watched 5 from GP: 1, 2, 3, 25 ,and 26. I don't remember which I liked the best or why, but I can give them a quick review and recommend one to you if you like. |

He gets into that in at least one of the videos I saw... he talks about why he lets go of small pots so he can bluff at big ones later, and he talks about his table image a lot and how he changes gears (when and why). I'll try to find a better video for you if you want.
P.S. Stop being results oriented. |

PS: Are all the cash videos 6 max?

GP 41 (10/20 Pokerstars) was the best video I saw.

I assume not. I downloaded only 6 max ones, since that's all I play, but I assume there are plenty of full ring ones.
BTW - I hate the name of this thread. We've gone from my big rambling post to me making goals to critiquing CardRunners. Damn. As for a recommendation... Ok, I dunno. I'm speed-reviewing them right now, and I can't pick. #25 was the one where the table broke up and he flashed his roll... that one was decent, I think. #26 was the one I watched earlier today that I thought was good - that one is for 2/4 NL. I think you should either pay for a few videos and be done with them, or suck it up and drop $70 on a membership and watch a bunch. If you don't think they are worth it, big deal - $70. If you do, great. Enjoy. |

For you low limiters, I see GP's got a free video. I haven't downloaded it, but you can check it out here:
That's .25/.50 NL. Give it a look. |

yea
I agree not enough content in it to be useful, but its a good basic idea of how the real videos will be. I will be taking chips advice and not getting these yet because I do agree they are a little to advance for me right now and hell im not even up to their low levels yet but from what I have seen from the 2 free videos they seem to be done very well and guys seem to know what they are talking about. |

Just as a follow up to the original post I made (and in case you missed ), I seem to have made it through the tough times and am loving the 3/6 NL game now. I'm planning on sticking to this level for quite a while, and seeing if I can really give my roll a boost.
JD, Boobie.... here I come. |
