Two things:

1. Welcome to the forum. Well, welcome to posting in the forum, anyway.

2. If you are unable to deposit, how did you cash out?

Thank you i have been very intrigued by this blog - it is more welcoming to newer players than others such as pocket fives. I cashed out by getting a check sent to a friend who cashed it (for 10% charge).

Default Good a time as any to speak up and post.

Hey y'all.

My story is short and not so sweet.

Been playing for close to a year up until Jan, when I stopped, due to tilt. Lost $1600 & decided to take a break. Easier said than done.

A buddy, had mentioned this place, so I came to check it out. Maybe take my mind off my poker troubles. After I skimmed through a couple of posts in the, "How should I ...." and Party section (members making good money at Party), I decided to go try my luck at the poker tables again. Redeposited $500 at Party and lost it within 2 days. Called PS and Party and had them close my account. Removed all poker programs from computer.

Felt like a drug addict. Was dreaming and fantasizing all day and night about what I was doing wrong at the poker tables, or what cards I should've folded on or called on. I was a total wreck. I'll tell you this much, you know you really have a problem when you start fantasizing about "nuts" as in poker nuts, instead of "tits" as in I'd like to suck those gorgeous juicy melons, baby.

After a few days, I had to go back to at least try to make up my money. I thought I was better. So I went back on computer, downloaded Poker site again and opened a new account. Lost another couple of hundred dollars, smashed my computer to bits, went to a strip joint, met a girl and fucked the living shit out of her. End of story.

I'm back now. I think 3 months of no computer or poker did me a lot of good.

I've opened up a new account at PS, but have yet to deposit. I'm in no hurry. I've been playing the play chip tables to pass my time.

Well that's my story.

This is a well put together forum. I like the interface and style. Friendly and inviting and not too crowded as in other forums where you can't make heads or tails of what's new and what's not. Glad to be here.

Ken.

Wasn't a stripper I picked up but a hot vavavoom chick with yes, big juicy melons. Needed both my hands to suck one tit.

Unfortunately, I realized that you are not eligible for this contest, as you had posted prior to it.

But GL anyway.

I'm glad you posted Gutz, and welcome to the forum.... but I have to say, my honest first impression of you is that you have a gambling problem and should probably avoid poker entirely.

If you MUST play, you need to get your bankroll management under control first. If you are busting out within a day or two, you are playing way over the limits you should be playing.

My first mistake was winning a few hundreds and thinking I was ready to move up. So from .50/1., I went to 5/10. A whole different ballgame there.

I'm not the same guy I was when I was the gambler type.I agree, I did have a problem a semi-serious one but I took time off for that reason. Needed to get my life back in order. Back then, I lost most of my friends and missed many family gatherings and celebrations due to my poker addiction. Now, if I'm bored I'll play a few rounds of play chips. That's it.

I'd like to have a chance at the money, for this reasoning. I don't want to deposit big money, which I have been known to do in the past. Or play above my limits.

I'm sure you have plenty of members here where they needed to take some time off, due to poker. All's I'm asking is a chance to prove to myself I can do it, and succeed this time, by playing within my limits. Give a bro a chance man.

One word: wow.

My advice: first, go buy Small Stakes Hold 'Em by Sklansky, then Harrington on Hold 'Em Vols. 1 & 2... read them and absorb all you can from them; second, learn bankroll management and stick to it... if you don't feel like following that path, stick to the play chips.

Ok, I think it's time to wrap up this contest and pick a winner, so effective right now, no more entries will be accepted.

The (valid) contestants are...........................................
JTown15
WizeGuy
himbob12
Shadowknife
GutzLord

And that's it. So, how am I going to pick a winner? Well, that's pretty easy, actually. First, let's cross off the people who ONLY posted in this thread (clearly they are more interested in the $20 than becoming contributing members of this site - as much as I like those psycho eyeballs and the pic of bunny, this is the best way to pick a winner). So, that leaves us with:
JTown15
WizeGuy
himbob12
Shadowknife
GutzLord

Wow, that certainly narrowed it down! We are left with exactly 2 candidates. Both made their first post in this thread on the 5th, with JTown being first. JTown has made a total of 9 posts, while himbob has made 17. JTown's most recent post was on the 18th, while himbob's was on the 22nd. They both logged on to the site as recently as yesterday. Going by that alone, I lean towards himbob.

BUT.... the most important factor for me is the QUALITY of the posts being made, and especially the quality of each of their first posts in this thread, since that's what this entire contest was about. And based on that, I'm leaning towards JTown.

I wouldn't want to runner up to feel completely shafted though, so here's what we're going to do. Neither of them is logged on right now (neither has been on yet today, in fact), so as best I can tell, this is fair. The first person (JTown or himbob only) to reply to this thread with their Stars name will receive $15 and the other will receive $5. If the other guy doesn't ALSO reply to this thread with his Stars name within 24 hours of when the first person replied, the first guy gets the whole $20.

Sounds fair to me. Let the games continue!

To all the other former lurkers (and especially Shadowknife, who has lurked here since 2004!), thanks for finally popping your posting cherry and I hope to see you posting more in the future.

My Pokerstars ID is Jonesy15 and whether or not I'm first to post I do hope that both of us get some of that money as I think Himbob as contributed to site a lot as well. Thanks for the opportunity!
