Geoff...it takes about 3 hours to clear most of the casinos I listed. Intercasino has a monthly reload of 90-100. Easy clear.

worst advice in the world, he asked for serious advice in his 1st post in this thread and you know this advice is totally dumb. I hope! |

When I have an eggroll, I like to play $10 sngs on Party. Like somebody else mentioned, you get a lot of play for your money and it's harder to go broke vs. playing cash games. If you win a couple, it will boost your eggroll quite nicely as well.

ok
ya but its not the best advice, I mean what are the chances he is gonna actully turn his eggroll into a real roll putting it all on a 2/4 table. Lou I would stick to some of the other advice given SAGs or grinding would do best for you. I personally will have $50 on pokerstars in a couple days and will be playing .05/.10 limit, this I dont think is for you because that would be absolute torture for you but I need to do it to try to improve my disapline. If I were you I would stick to the SAG or grind the NL games, of course if I was you I would also be a lawyer and that would be interesting. |

Two things:
(1) Brian and Kirk - I'll tell you both right now, don't start arguing back and forth in this thread. I really don't feel like dealing with it. This thread could possibly be useful for people who want to try to build a roll from a small amount. (2) Kirk, I seriously considered sitting at a higher game. I have no problem gambling, but the thing holding me back is that if I have a losing session (thus losing my meager eggroll)... then I won't have any money to fart around with. I think right now, although I want to build this eggroll up, I just wanna stay playing. Whether it be a cheap SnG or a micro-limit game, at least I can relax at night for an hour and play some poker. The good news is that a friend I used to "run" with (lol) called me up. He had a very good week at various games and he's looking to put me in action. So, hopefully I'll have some live-game exposure over the next few weeks. If I'm able to turn a profit, maybe I can deposit a little more online. Damn I'm rambling... friends were over for dinner and I've had too many Tanqueray and Tonics.

Although Kirk's advice is risky, he read that I wasn't scared of putting it on the line. It's very possible that I have a winning session at a higher limit. If that's the case, then I could have a doubled bankroll, eh?
But, I've decided against that.

not arguing, I think if sng where youre bread and butter back in the day then that might be your best option. I really like that 3 table Idea someone came up with earlier. Whatever you choose Lou good luck. |

I log onto PS, and with $50, I really do have many options. Granted, none of them are gonna make me rich... and it's not likely I win a trip to Aruba... maybe I'll win $10 tonight.
LOL. I'm gonna go hog-wild when I get a paycheck in October.

Lol
well at least you will down on my level for a couple months before you go wild Mine is by choice also, made a deal with myself saying if I can not control my disapline I dont want to play anymore so depositing only $50 and trying to build it from the level im supposed to be at .05/.10. If I bust out of this money before the 5th then think I'am gonna call it quits seriously. Yes you can all hold me to that but lets not discuss that here because like Lou said this thread could help someone trying to build that roll from nothing. |

How could you play 5c/10c limit? Wouldn't you rather play NL? Just wondering.

ok
$10 NL with $50 is only like 5 buy-ins, I know that I could lose that very easy if I have a bad day playing. I know I will be drawn out alot in .05/.10 but also cant lose $10 on it. I plan on moving up to NL when I get up to about $100 giving me 10 buy-ins. I kinda want to start from the beggining, reading through my past posts that TP and shabi so nicley found for me I reliazed how terrible my disapline was/is. I figure this will help me to gain more control, I don't care if I dont make a single cent as long as I dont bust out. Want to try to just make like $50 deposit every 2 weeks and never have to rebuy in the middle of those 2 weeks and just play within that bankroll and not move up until I reach the next level. So next level will be .25/.50 limit at $150, actully might not do NL for awhile need to focus on limit and my disapline 1st. |

to be honest i think some of the fun in poker is the chance that you can lose your money, or triple it in one night, which is why i dont bother with all your bankroll advice, ive played for a while, and i have a decent sized bankroll for where i started, and i started playing above my bankroll too. its just no fun to grind out small limits and its to boring, i like having the risk and chance of doubling up or losing it all in one hand and thats why i play poker.

hmmm
I really disagree with this kkirk, not arguing with you and if thats how you want to do it then hey its youre money. I actully find alot of enjoyment in grinding it out and building a bankroll. I much rather spend a month grinding $50 into $200 then taking $50 into 2/4 winning 2k and losing it in one night. TRUST ME I BEEN THERE . If losing alot of money in one night is youre idea of fun you can have it. |
