You live in the same world as George Bush. Everything is black and white, subtleties and nuances don’t exist, and you should never reflect upon your decisions or actions. Good for you.

I would have serious issues being on a forum with a known fraud perpetrator.

Wow... this thread sure has gotten "interesting."

Let me ask you this, jimmy - in the past, people have spoken of underage drinking, drug use, not reporting poker income on their taxes, downloading of copyrighted materials, etc. It's all heresay, of course, since none of us can actually see each other first hand and KNOW what people are doing behind their computer screens.

But I'm just wondering - every time someone links to a torrent site where other forum members can find the latest episode of "Lost" that they missed or "High Stakes Poker," which airs on the Game Show Network that they don't get, do you scribble down their information, track down their local police department and/or pass the information on the the FBI?

I realize you feel very strongly about this, and that's fine... but I agree with mel, here (the George Bush comments and all). It is impossible that you have ALL the information, you've completly disrespected Aeq's wishes, and IMO, you've overstepped your bounds.

Had this happened to me, I would have reported HES, yes. But it didn't. It happened to AEQ, and I respect him enough (barely ) to realize that this is his decision to make, and not mine. I thought this poll was just a simple way of asking whether people thought Aeq should report HES - not you.

I will be banning HES, yes, but again - not until this blows over a bit. If I ban him now, there is a chance he won't even see the latest in this thread and that you've reported him, let alone have a chance to respond. Maybe he doesn't even have the "right" to know that or to respond. I don't know. It's a tricky situation.

Just sat down and got caught up with this thread. Wow, some of your internet people are CRAZY. LOL. I'll give a more detailed explanation of my thoughts probably tomorrow, since this whole weekend is busy for me.

TP..

Am not an overprotective person or vigilante that that frowns or remarks at every criminal offence, I feel though because we are on a poker forum and telling each other how were doing were we play when we play how much we win and lose how much weve just deposited how much bonus ect weve just had ect, and at one stage were we come from how old and when we were born, its just not on for one of our own to try and attempt to steal it.

The points you mention in the first paragraph are all down to us as individuals, if we want to download illegally or not pay taxes we know what to expect if we get caught, what this guy done and then addmitted and then asked for -rep points as a punishment from us is just not on.

I am not sure but I remember about a year and a bit ago someone attempting to hack into someones account again on our forum, I may be wrong. This guy must be reported even if nothing happens because Lou has decided not to report the crime against him. We must cover ourselfs incase it happens again, I feel better knowing that his local force know what he attempted.

Just look at the members respose to his actions, nearly all out date of births have been removed and our cities, am I the only person who is paranoid about this. Am sorry for the poll and misleading members and fuck the FBI seems over the top, but this guy isnt sorry read through his conversation with Lou and since then,,,I dont know what more to say but Sorry this really got to me..

So bloody paranoid ,,deleted everything personal about myself ,,,even my lovely moving fish Avatar

the thing to think about Jimmy, is that is it any of our business? AEQ and TP are handling it, HES will be banned. I doubt hes is insane enough to try it again, if he did he KNOWS we will find out instantly, we have all the info we need from AEQ, i may be insane here, but i reckon if HES tried it with me, hed be in jail faster than you can say cat in a hat ( to quote swordfish ), i have ideas from AEQ now if this happens.

All this thread was meant to be is our representation of events, i dont feel we should in anyway interfere with things gogin on, we have our right to vote on our feelings, discuss possible repercussions on HES's actions, but in NO WAY is it our business to interfere and try to sway the mind of the prson who is the vistim (AEQ).

I feel that our vote should be seen, and the moralistic answers viewed, but who are we to tell a lawyer if to prosecute a guy for something?

Yes, jimmy - you are being paranoid.

Lou has sensitive information saved in his very unsecure YAHOO email account. That was his mistake. Names, hometowns and birthdays are simply not enough (alone) to get entry into someone's poker account anywhere (at least none of the major sites). If they are, try getting into this account just for kicks:

Ben Affleck
August 15, 1972
Berkeley, CA

GL with that.

Based on the above post (and others from HES) ^^^^^^^^^^ - I see very little, if any, remorse.

I have a queston:

If not a moral obligation, is it not a civic obligation to protect the greater good to report a known crime to the authorities even if the victim didn't/does not want to?

Naturally - this is dependent on the crime, however, this particular one may very well have (and quite easily) turned out financially devastating to AEQ. Just google online identity theft and read some of the first hand accounts that may have started the same way this one did. People take years to recover from said instances, would it not be prudent to report this before it evolves into something more detrimental to the victim or leads to other victims? HES hase proven a will, desire and ability to commit this crime.

Lay down with dogs, wake up with fleas....

A desire and ability? How do I have the ability cause I got into ONE account? And now that Ive done it once Im gunna do it over and over again? No, I dont know much about computer shit, I dont have the ability, Aeq just had too much stuff in an unsecure mailbox. Most emails will be in somethin like Outlook Express. How do you expect me to get into that? Impossible, for me. The reason I could get all the information on Aeq is because he had all his information in his yahoo account profile. Name, Address, phone number, Neteller info, ect...

Nope, Dont think I really have an ability.

Yahoo mail is secured with a username and password, albeit weak. However, you had the right to exploit this how??

Integrity has everything to do with this - of which yours is most certainly in question/doubt. How can anyone believe you won't considering how not-seriously you seem to be taking the situation. **see above post from you**

You've proven your ability:

Oh - and the neg reps I'm gettting for this.....I really don't give a flying f*ck about.

remorse? nah, just gettin a little agrivated bout how other people are stepping in. This is still between me and Lou. What can anyone else do?

I didnt realize that by fucking up once made me an addict. Maybe I should check out getting into an AA type deal for someone whos done fraud. Might even invest in getting a patch or somethin to help with my hacker cravings. Im not a top of the line hacker whos gunna keep doin this. God, I fucked up, I tried making my wrong right and have done everything I can to correct it.
Heres a question for the people reading this.

WHAT MORE CAN I DO? Ive appologized, payed him back, and I am working off my consequences. What more can I do people?

As much as I think this thread was a bad idea and reporting the incident independently of Aeq may be overstepping the situation...I doubt there is anything you could say in this thread, HES, that would make the situation any better.

I mean, you're gonna be taking lumps...might as well deal with it.
