I wouldn't necessarily call cash games online dead, but they are certainly not thriving anymore. It is this time that you are really seeing who plays well postflop, and who just follows some standard 2+2 or cardrunners preflop stats. The people that play better postflop are still going to win, but those tagfish are either going to have to table select much better or move far below their limits they are used to.
As for you TP, I would say that you play reasonably well and have a general solid feel, but you do have some leaks as to basic equity. I would suggest that you just set down a couple hours some time in the near future with pokerstove and pen and paper (or word if you prefer) and run some math as to hand ranges and such. That seems to help me and expand upon my knowledge if I am ever in a rut. I guess you could say that NLHE is reaching the point where LHE was about a year ago. People are starting to realize what basic preflop stats equate to being a winner, and what stats are classified as being losers. It is now no longer just acceptable to play 22/18 and book 4 ptbb/100 like it was a year ago. Or you could start to play PLO which seems to play like NLHE did 2 years ago. |
