Thanks for the link. What I mean by getting this all figured out, is how to make effective use of the hud in my game.

im guessing you don't know what the numbers mean then right?

go to the help files and follow the links to find out what all the numbers mean, a lot of numbers are good as stand alone but some work really good together.

Like VPIP and TOTAL aggression, a person running a like 35vpip and very aggressive would be like a LAG style player. So those are the players you would just check your monster hands to and let them do the betting, those are the players you would want to check and let them catch up etc etc.

the ones with like a cold call very high and very little aggression, those are the players you want to value bet all the way and stuff like that.

But there are tons of numbers and some people like different things, I myself dont like total aggression numbers becuase I like to know street by street so I can make the best decisions per street. Its really a personal prefrence.

Thanks man. I have an idea about some of the numbers, but no doubt there will be a learning curve. I am going to put in some time in the next day or so using VPIP, Preflop Raise, # hands, Aggression by each street, and continuation bet.

I will go through the help pages, and I will probably have some questions about using different numbers in combination in the next week.

But first things, first...

gotta put the kids to bed

Default on the fly update...

I am currently playing $25 max on PS and am up about 30 bucks. I am also happy to say that I am playing tighter than normal. (I am enrolled in LAG anonymous. I am on step 8 of the 12 step recovery program).

The hand sample is too small at the moment to make many numbers particularly useful but PFR and continuation bet have already factored into 2 profitable decisions. Actually PFR kept me out of one pot, but I want to make sure I have the general idea correct.

am I right in thinking...

a low PFR indicates that the player is more likely to have a premium hand when the enter with a preflop raise?

A high PFR indicates that the player is more likely to raise with a wider variety if hands?

Default end result

94 hands, up a total of $30.50 (pretty much all of it in the first 30 hands) I like the HUD, but i recognize that it will take time to learn how to use it properly. got some reading to do...

in my opinion a low PFR to me means bad player because if you enter a pot your really should be raising.

BUT

your sample size is way too low if you dont have at least over 100 hands on them the numbers dont really mean much. BUT no just because someone raises a little dosent mean they have premiem. What position they are in, have they folded alot of hands? is their VPIP low.

A low vpip and a low PFR and a pretty good sample size would send red flags up to me and I would fold my AQ there. A high VPIP and a low or high PFR I might raise my AQ or maybe even just call if he had been raising alot. If I raise my AQ and a high VPIP and high PFR raises me that is a time when I might pu in a 3 bet because I know that he dosnt have to have premiem to do that because he has been playing real loose and I want to make him make a hard decision.

Its like a hand I played with talking poker a little while ago, I raised from the button with Q9 and tp from the button put in a raise. Now I had folded to this same play 2 times before but I knew that TP was a solid player and he knew that I didnt have to have a big hand there to raise. So I knew if I 3 bet him there he would have to give me credit for a hand. Now I would never do that against a guy with high vpip and high cold call % , I didnt know TP's numbers there but from watching his videos I knew he would either have to fold there or shove and I put him to the hard decision and that is what you want to do in poker. You do not want to be the guy calling you want to be the one making your opponents have to make hard decisions. Now of course with my Q9 I was either folding to a shove or taking pot down there, if he did call which I was positive he wouldnt I could easily put him on something like AA or KK or at worse QQ and I could play the flop accordingly. That is where the numbers come in play, use them to affect how you play flop textures.

Default coming soon to thread near you...

I finally have PT and the HUD going good for me. only have a few thousand hands though.

I want to consider other numbers, but that will come in time.

I will post an image of my layout the next time I am in a cash game.

in my 6 max numbers I could actually fit one more line up of stats but no clue what else to put. I think these stats pretty much give me all I need to know.

yea I got all them, I actually took out my street aggression and just have it post flop aggression which basically just sorts the streets by 1 number.

1. I need room for other stats
2. I dont really feel I need to know street by street ( used to think I did) as long as I know how aggressive they are postflop.
3. I really like being able to have my C-bet block of stats in there.
