I would have loved to have seen that $1/2 game. Winning 10 buy ins playing 95/70... that's just awesome.
Sucks about the $1000 chip. Some tourist is going to be awfully lucky. |

Played in today. It sucked. In the beginning, I erred on the passive side a little bit, but I certainly don't think I played badly at all. To give you an example, I opened from the CO with AJo, Jeff Madsen reraised (to what amounted to about 20% of our stacks), and I folded - that sort of thing. I was moved to three different tables in the span of 4 minutes at one point, which is pretty annoying. Then I was card dead. Then I ran into bigger hands. Then I was out.
I know it's just poker and how it works, but it's frustrating when you're as psyched as I was and playing as well as I have been when you feel like you didn't even have a chance, ya know? Bah. After that, I sat down in a $5/10 game for a while. , I ended up down a little bit - not much. After that, I grabbed a bite to eat and just relaxed outside for a while. Then I stood in the satellite (SNGs, basically) line. They were filling a $325 when I got to the front, so I bought into that. Early on, my JJ sucked out on a VERY short stacked KK's all in. It was cool how the hand went down: He shoves, I call. Flop is KTx. I say, "OK, give me a Queen." Turn is a Queen. I say, "Cool, now give me an Ace." River is a 9. Meh, close enough. The moral of the story is I can't seem to win lately when I get my money in good, so maybe I should start getting it in bad more often! When we got down to three players, we agreed to give whoever finished third his money back. A couple of hands later, with big blinds, the button (who BARELY had me covered) shoved. I look down and see As7s. I think for a bit and decide to fold. The BB calls and flips up KK. The button shows KQ. Naturally, the flop comes 7xx with 2 spades and the turn AND river are both spades.... If only I would have taken my own advice. So, heads up, we decided to chop what's left of the prize pool. He has me outchipped something like 11k-4k, and we agreed to split the remaining $2800, $1700/$1100. I'll take it. As for what's next........... I'm going to play in tomorrow. Rather than feel confident and psyched and feel really good about my game, I'm going to go on record saying I feel terrible, I'm dreading this tourney, I hate the structure, and I'll probably be out really early. Yeah, that's the ticket. |

Way too much good times down here, thanks again everyone, it was really cool finally putting faces to names and hanging out with all of you. I'm sure we'll all meet up again sometime. I'm trying to get my busto friends to come down with me for a weekend sometime this summer, one vegas trip a year isnt enough!

Windsor and Poker
Windsor has population of just over 300,000 as of the 2001 national census. The paper likely picked up on the Daniel N. bit because it runs his column in the Saturday edition. The Windsor area poker scene is developing. There is an addition going on the Casino Windsor, which also happens to be a Harrah's property. There is a lot of potential here, but the big road blocks are the upper management of the poker room who don't seem interested in doing anything othger than day to day business, and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission, that is making charity tournaments outside of a Casino pretty bloody difficult. I am really hoping that once the convention center addition is complete we might see a WSOP Cirucuit event her in the next 2-4 years.

LOL at this part: As if that means anything. Cool beans though. You're famous. That said, talk to me when you have - ahem - TWO WSOP final tables under your belt. |

So.................
I've played in three big tourneys and have cashed in 0. I really feel like I've been palying very good poker, which makes it extra frustrating, but what can you do? That's just how poker works. 3 tourneys is most definitely not the long run, ya know? There is a $540 deepstack event at the Venetian again tomorrow. I kind of want to play (because I love the structure so much), but I kind of don't. I dunno.... I'm not sure what I'd do instead, but right now, sleeping in until I wake up, hanging out by the pool for a while, and maybe even hitting the gym here sounds pretty darn good to me. Also, when I bumped into herschelw tonight, he invited me over to his place in Henderson to play some online poker tomorrow afternoon/evening. He's staying with a couple of other solid players, so not only do I think that might be fun, but railing him in real time could be good for my game too. So I might do that. P.S. I really hate how I have to come to the lobby to get online here. The phone has been ringing off the hook for the last hour and for some reason, the THREE people "working" won't answer it. WTF? |

I'm at herschelw's place right now, railing his nightly tourneys. Watching him play too closely makes me nautious (so... many... tables!!!) so I thought I'd take a break and catch up on the forum on his laptop.
I'll post a pic of his set up shortly. It's sweet, down to the pile of loose hundreds next to his mouse pad. |

if they don't overlap, how do u know when it's your turn? sometimes isn't it really hard to tell.
I have 2 monitors set up now, but last time i played, i 12 tabled all on my 17" cuz i can't tell when it's my turn if they dont overlap

I time out occasionally with 2 20'' if I'm 8-tabling due to not focusing on that table, but it is definitely better than staring at those tiny ass tables with a 17'' laptop. I can't even make out the stack sizes sometimes with those small of tables, let alone pokerace #s.
