I guess I don't know much about McNair, but from what I have heard he was (I would say is but...) pretty intelligent on the field. I may be wrong, but someone with more knowledge of the Titans from about 5 years ago could let us know. Last time I checked, he was African American.
My girlfriend is black, so I don't take kindly to stuff like this. To be honest, I was surprised at the stereotypes I found hidden in myself over the 3 years I have been with her. I, after all, considered myself nothing of a racist, but I found some disturbing stuff inside. You do need to realize that the comments you made are racist (if you deny this still, check the dictionary); you made a statement that implies all black quarterbacks are incapable of doing what Manning does. You generalized and said that a difference in race implies a difference in certain characteristics. I do not think you are A racist, but you made a racist comment, and as much as they are socially taboo I also think they represent a bit of immaturity. You cant organize the world and you can't categorize it. Cliche time: Don't judge a book by its cover.

I realize I made a mistake. I appreciate that you do not think that I am a racist, and I already apologized for the comments. Again my apolies for the comments.

There aren't many great black quarterbacks in history because they never got a chance to play due to racist fuckwads. I can think of a few good ones, notice how they are all from the eighties or later. Doug Williams won a Superbowl, Warren Moon, Randall Cunningham, Donovan McNabb, and Steve McNair. Moon is a hall of famer. Cunningham is close but won't get there. I think McNair has a great chance at being a hall of famer. McNabb too if he can rebound from all the bullshit in Philly. Byron Leftwich is very promising as well. Of course there's Culpepper. I don't like that guy though, heh.

There isn't a person on earth, black, white, yellow, puerto rican, or haitian, who is dumber than former Bears quarterback Cade McNown.
And Ryan Leaf?

Vince Young didn't get the same education as everyone at UT. You seriously think he did his own work at school? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he is the 2nd dumbest person attending the university, only ahead of PJ Tucker. I'm not defending this guy's broad general statements, only that Vince Young is dumb(not because of his race, and not as a football player), and that I don't think he will be a successful quarterback bc he isn't a good passer. I don't want to hear about his completion percentage, he only played one real defense all year(OhioStateU), and in that game Texas was held to the least points of the year. Maybe he'll prove me wrong, or maybe I'm a jealous OU fan.

I think everyone is missing the big picture here....
The real news of Vince Young entering the draft is that he just made things a little easier for Ohio State to win the national championship next year!! |

lol Tony Mandrich... wasnt he the offensive linemen that was drafted by GB #1 overall because he and everyone else hyped him up beyond belief?
Him and Bosworth were both products of themselves. |

I wasn't trying to prove your point kmb. And there is no way VY will be rookie of the year, *unless* he starts somewhere as a wideout, even then it is highly doubtful. I just can't see him being a successful NFL QB

Bottom Line
The bottom Line is that a month ago he was the smartest person ever, not declaring for the draft, it made it seem like he knew he wasnt ready and now in the words of the great red forman "He's a Dumbass" he wont make it in the NFL yet he needs another year to develope.....now hes GPA thats a different story and in hopes that i will avoid the wrath of people in this forum i have no comment at this time

Stay in school and maybe get a major injury or go pro and get a major payday.
He aint that dumb now is he.

He could of stayed in school, got an insurance policy, developed his arm and awareness and been the 1st pick in the 2007 draft. He would then be a more successful NFL quarterback, and get a bigger payday, with a longer contract.
By declaring himself this year, he is opening himself to developing in the pros at a level he isn't ready to be at. He may get a major payday to start off with then turn into a Kordell Stewart and disappear after a couple years. NFL Draft Countdown.com said it best...

No the key is # of paydays, one where he gets drafted they find out he aint shit and dump him, ir develope and get multiple contract extensions not to mention a bigger payday to start

Most players arent thinking ahead 3-4 years later when their rookie contract runs out.... they want money NOW, not later, NOW!
I see him being kind of like Akili Smith... who had 1 great year in college then went pro and got drafted by the bengals #2 overall I think. VY could prove me wrong but I just dont see him being a great NFL QB. |

What people arent realizing is he could have what happened to MAtt Leinhart happen to him. He would of been the ovbious #1 pick last year if he came out, stock through the roof and gotten a nice contract and the huge bonus that comes along with being the #1 pick.
He returned to school, had another stellar year, yet his stock has went down... not only is he not being drafted #1 now, he may not even be the first QB to get drafted!?! Before anyone judges...I have a question for all of you Whatever your college major may be (or was) if someone were to come up to you after 3 years of school, and offer you a job in the field you are going to school for, starting next year, how many would take it and how many would refuse the offer? I know I'd take it...

I would take the offer too but thats not the point, yeah hed make a shitload of money and have a hella good bonus, but what about the future....Now heres a question for you Zybomb your a gambling man, do u take the sure thing for lets say 19 million or do you go back to college learn some more things become a better player and go for the 100s of millions you could then make?
