Default The Best (and worst) of TalkingPoker

Well seeing as 100,000 posts is fast approaching, and we are more than 2 years deep, I figured we need a summarizing thread. (That and we need to get more posts in quickly )

So anyway, post here what you think is the best, and worst, of the forum to date. It can be anything. Best post, best line, best link, worst picture, whatever.

I'll get us started.

The best line EVER at TP.com

automatic SWAback

Whenever I see anything SWA that has been changed to a verb, I think of this and LMFAO.

From this thread
Shocking that Shabi started this thread huh. Well either way, Shabi, this is on me!

I dont mean for this to become a SWA (or eejit) bashing thread, although I am sure there will be lots of that coming.

Anyone else got any warm and fuzzy memories they would like to share?

here is the time where I felt warm and fuzzy, hope this doesn't depress anyone. This one thread alone made me more happy at a really really bad time, thank you all that put input in this thread.

that single thread showed me how much human emotion plays in, at that point I was really working on wearing out my welcome. I was a complete ass the whole time Gavin was sick, but after all that you guys came back with some of the nicest comments I could imagine.

I also got a PM from a certain user still around that had his personal phone number in it if I needed someone to talk to, that was real cool. Again guys thanks for being there for me.

Absolutely the WORST thread I ever read here. Only time a thread in a poker forum brought tears. Glad some of us idiots could bring a little cheer to you Brian!

I could say any of my im leaving posts, or TP screwed me posts would be the worst but that would be just for me the forum had laugh at it. But the worst for forum was either when Holdem hacked Lou or this one.

I hated that so much!!!!

guess it qualifies for best/worst thread. Was the worst because it was sad for everyone that went through that with me. Yes you all went through it with me every step of the way. BUT it was also the best because you guys helped me though it, I'm still not through it and may never be but I feel I'm doing better because of you guys.

We've had way too many great and horrible posts to try to remember them all. 2Tone made a nice list for his 1000th post though - this would be a good place to start:

Note #1 on his list:
It's definitely nice to have you back, man.

For me personally, I have to say my two WSOP Final table threads were pretty fun:
2005 -
2006 -

My times in Aruba and the Bahamas would also rank high on my list:
Aruba -
Bahamas -

There have been too many sweet railbird threads to list (people winning trips and whatnot), but the one that I remember the most was bdawg (aka PokerNovice at the time)'s WCOOP score in 2005:

Lots and lots of good memories. As for some of the bad ones, this Rookette "joke" will remain on top top of my list forever. I mean, WTF???

Let me just repeat that one more time here: WTF???

There are too many Brian going crazy threads to even start a list. Lou running this poll was pretty funny (this is an excellent starting point for those wanting to find some "Worst of" stuff):

Funny how if we reran that poll now, I suspect eejit would get a hell of a lot more votes and bunny would get 0. I linked to some of SWA's greatest hits in this post in that thread:

That thread points me back to a post Chip made circa January, 2005. God damn, this thread made me laugh for some reason... at 2:30 AM.... and it wasn't even that funny:

Wow... it's hard NOT to run into crazy SWA threads, isn't it?

LOL all over again.

Another fond memory for me was this sweet prop bet I made with Defendant:

That was a fun day on the golf course.

Here is Lou getting "punked" (as mentioned earlier):

I always enjoyed the "Post Your Picture" threads too. We need an updated one of those. Here's the most recent one we have, I think:
(you can get to the old ones from that one)

I could go on and on, Im sure, but this should entertain even those most bored among you for quite some time.

Default good time good times

It's been a hell of a ride here TP, thanks for starting this forum. I have been here for awhile and I think I speak for most when I say you have done a hell of a job on the forum. Thanks for not banning me when I gave you tons of reason to, or actully thanks for not taking Lou's advice and banning me. Its funny I actully dont dislike anyone here and I dont think the community would be the same without Lou or shabi or anyone.

Of course I could do without all the morons that come during freeroll time but the actul users are great here. And the new additions are even better, JD was a great one, Bunny....great, and all the rest there are alot of you but those are 2 that came off 1st. Just wanted to thank you all for keeping me around and if you wonder why just click some of those threads TP linked to and you will see he had plenty of reasons to click that ban button.

Default Credit where credit is due.

I’ve got to give you some credit. After a very rocky start (See my best of-list), you’ve stuck around, and made some decent contributions. I really enjoyed the Verizon thread. And speaking of credit, it was in that very thread just the other day in which Brian showed, if not a touch of craziness, at least some highly unorthodox logic.

Also I would nominate the Forum Challenge thread for Best. Both for our performance and all the extra-curricular activity.
