Default 6-handed Or 10-handed

I was just wondering what you think ive been playing 6 handed on pokerstars alot and making some money in it. Which one do you like more I mean 10-handed less blinds you have to play but more people to worry about sucking out with, maybe ill try 10-handed when I get home to see let me know what you think?

Two different games. If you're a tight aggressive player, then 10 table, if you're a loose player and likes to see flops and raise preflop, definately 6 players then. Whatever suits your style of play best.

I struggle with my short handed game -- adjusting to the aggression is tricky for me, and I have a much higher win rate at a full table, as I'm rewarded for sticking to premium hands. Many others -- including our host -- make big bucks at it.

6-handed has one added benefit: top 2 pay, out of 6 people, thats 33%. Top 3 out of 10 people is only 30%. That means, more spots pay out.

Just something else to consider.

Although playing tight may pay off there, if you play really good players at short handed play, those guys can probably steal a lot of hands. I just don't think it's the right way to play in the long term for short handed tables. I think you need to be a lot more aggressive and bluff more than normal.

I like 6 handed, but it seems to go down to 2 or 3 handed very quickly. that is a bit too much for me. I like to play with 6 or 7 players at a table, so its a fine line.

Yeah, I do the exact same thing. At a 10 handed limit table, due to me sticking to the premium hands and playing aggressive I can make good profit. But in a six handed game, I try to play the same way and always end up breaking even or coming out slightly ahead due to the blinds.

And I'm talking about ring games, not SnGs

For some reason, I've had better luck the last couple of days going 6 handed.

Default 6-Max

I find 6-Max to be very streaky. You need to stick to your hands, but not let everyone run you over either. It seems like there are ALOT of REALLY bad players in 6-MAX, and it is VERY hard sometimes to put someone on a hand.
It is great if you like action thought. The hands are shorter, and the play is faster. You can quickly double up or bust out.

Default ok

after some soul searching this morning I relized really not doing anything wrong just hitting bad streak then complicating it by getting mad about it. So decided to drop back down to .25/.50 and im back up to $88.00 this morning. I started to play multiple tables that way if im in a bad streak at one maybe the other 2 will make up for it.

I play pretty much equally in 10-max, 9-max, and 6-max.
Game of preference is 9-max... The way the game was meant to be played.
10-handed pisses me off because I always get sucked out on.... Come to think about it, I may start playing 10-handed less. I'll have to look into that.

Do you really notice that much of a difference between 10 max and 9 max? And Am I right in assuming that most poker sites don't offer both 10 max and 9 max?

I personally like short handed better. I don't seem to get sucked out as much.

No not really...
Just seems like there's one more fool catching his crap....
No, A site will either offer 10 or 9 seats....
For example... Stars=9seated Party=10seated.
