Just a question here is it not a four outer in a way due to the fact there are 4 fives in a deck?

We both already had flushes, which beat straights, so my hand wouldn't improve if one of the other three 5s came - I'd still have a flush. I needed exactly the 5 to make a straight flush, in order to beat his higher flush.
