Tons of Games in CFB this weekend
Looking over the games thusfar, I am going to be placing a lot of bets... especially on several homedogs that I like here. In fact I don't think I've ever bet on so many dogs, nor have I seen so many home dogs with a real shot of winning straight up. Here goes my SEVEN GAME list
Florida State -4.5 at Maryland PICK: Maryland +4.5 Maryland has been a tough team all season long, with their only losses coming against a Top 5 West Virginia Team and a squeeky tight loss against a ranked Georgia Tech. Florida State after their big win against Miami has fallen short against Clemson and BC at home...neither of the two are pushovers, but they key loss I believe comes at NC State, who Maryland defeated last week (in a game that was not nearly as close as the final score of 26-20 indicates). Especially at home getting points I like Maryland, I think they can win outright. Michigan State -7.5 at Indiana. PICK: Indiana +7.5 Michigan State needed a huge comeback to defeat an awful Northwestern team and that was their only win in the big 10 on the season. Indiana has won at Illinois and defeated a tough Iowa at home, while Michigan State was defeat by Illinois at home. The Hoosiers may win this outright, but + a TD and a hook with homefield advantage I'll jump on it Miami +5 at Georgia Tech PICK: Georgia Tech -5 Georgia Tech should bounce back from an awful performance in Clemson with a home victory against a struggling Miami team who only managed to beat a winless pathetic Duke team by 5 points last week. Especially at home and bouncing back from an awful performance, Tech should win by at least a TD here. Tennessee -4.5 at South Carolina PICK: Tennessee -4.5 The only Road team that I like this week in CFB is the Vols, a team no one expected to be that good at the start of the season. Interesting Stat: South Carolina has lost 8 straight games to top ten teams. The Vols proved on the road that they can beat a solid (well "solid" I guess) Georgia team in dominating fashion (though it was close until the 2nd half). This same Georgia team shut out South Carolina in South Carolina. I like the Vols with the fairly small spread here. Arizona State Pick Em at Washington PICK: Washington This spread started as another home dog with Arizona being a 2 point favorite but has moved down to a pick em. Washing was a double unit winner for me last week getting 24 points against California in a game they almost won. They are seriously underated in my opinion and Arizona's only conference win has come against a pathetic Stanford team. Though losing, Washington kept it close with Top 5 USC and Ranked Cal, while Arizona State was destroyed by Cal and Oregon. At home I'll take Washington straight up. Washington State +1 at UCLA PICK: UCLA -1 This started out as another home dog as well, with The Bruins getting 2 points, but it has quickly moved 3 points to -1. I think UCLA will be out for blood after their dissapointing last minute loss to Notre Dame last week. All 3 of the Bruins losses have come on the road, and although the Cougars hold a victory on the Road against Oregon State and a home victory against Oregon (who defeated the Bruins), I think UCLA has too much energy for them this time, especially with home field advantage. Apparantly with the spread moving this early in the week already, Vegas thinks so too THURSDAY GAME Clemson -4.5 at Virginia Tech PICK: Virginia Tech +4.5 V Tech has a habbit of spoiling teams seasons when they themselves have already slipped (e.g: 2003 Miami game where they pounced them 30 something to 7 ). In addition V Tech is 10-1 ATS in the last 15 years as a home dog. Clemson has never been a good road team, as they are 8-10 in the past several season on the road. Finally only 4 times in their last 13 Road victories have they won by more than 4 points. Im going with Tech and the points here. Penguin, Omaha, others, feel free to input/ include any of your games you've seen

I hate my own school's football team, so this is easy to rebuke...but weren't the Miami players suspended for last week's game?
Also, don't forget that Miami was embarrased last year in Miami by a big surprise GT team. I doubt they'd let the chance go by to return the favor and what a stage to show they are back to focused on football.

Another stat on the Virginia Tech game is that VT has some insane stat (not sure exactly) but they have never lose on Thursday Night Football in like 13 yrs or some crazy shit. I like Virginia Tech also because they are so tough at home and also Clemson almost ALWAYS chokes under the pressure and I see them choking hard tonight.
If I find the stat I will post it. Also Maryland +4.5 looks like your best bet out of all of those games. FLA St. is VERY overrated and Maryland could win this one outright. EDIT: I think VT lose to BC this year on Thursday Night which put an end to the stat but one lose in 13 season on Thursday night football isnt bad. Last edited by omahilo; 10-26-06 at 01:51 PM. |

Can you give me a good reason why one would put any stock in a stat like that?

I dont know really... Thursday Night college Football was started like 13 yrs ago and VT had never lose a game playing on Thursday night so like I said, I dont know. Its just a trend that has been winning people alot of money over the past 13 seasons.
Also VT owned Clemson tonight, just like I said. VT is almost unbeatable in Blacksburg and Clemson ALWAYS choke once people start jumping on their bandwagon. Maybe one day people will learn that Clemson will never be that good, they always choke. Also Bobby Bowden's son is a very overrated coach who would of been fired along time ago if not for his last name. |

so far so good...
Not too sure about most of your plays other than FLA ST/Maryland. I see Maryland winning this game, I really do. They have played tough all season and FLA ST is very overrated. People got to realize that this isnt 1996 anymore and FLA ST isnt a powerhouse no more. |

good job guys!
I wound up goin 5-2, hitting both of my double unit plays (maryland and v tech), making 5 units (minus vig) for the week of CFB, so I guess u cant ask for too much more The Washington game could have gone either way...and to lose at home in OT to a FG is just shitty UCLA just fell apart in the 2nd half -- they were still on a hangover from their almost win vs notre dame -- they hadnt lost all yr at home and i guess i put too much into that. I have two plays goin on today the Jets and the Rams (the rams line is jus too fishy though, i think they r suckering us in) so we'll see what happens
