Neteller updates their policy
I just logged on and noticed that neteller is requiring you to agree to a new policy. I tried to read through it and see what changed but I never read through the original and they don't highlight the changes...if anyone knows what they changed I would appreciate knowing.

Ugh. Someone get Real Deal in here to turn that into short and sweet English, please.
Edit: For those who think I am crazy, Blibbity HAD posted the whole thing in this thread, but now it's gone... |

OK, when you go to Neteller's site DO NOT login unless you are just going to accept this anyway. If you want to wait, go to their homepage and at the bottom in little letters click on "terms of use" and you can see what you will be asked to accept at login. You can only say "defer" once so if you are unsure, don't login yet.
Sorry about the deletion, I realized as I was reading through it that it was available from their site WITHOUT logging in, so no need to post the WHOLE thing here. If we find that parts of it are concerns we can just post those...

I have logged in to Neteller several times in the past few days, and have yet to incur this settlement agreement. I bookmarked the sign-in page, which was . Neteller has since changed the address you sign into if you go by the homepage, but this previous one still allows you to log into Neteller without the hassle of accepting the new terms.

My take in a nutshell is: business as usual.
However, there is one clause that concerns me and that's the one where they state that at their discretoin they may suspend or limit access to your Account or terminate your Account if they believe your Account has been used or allegedly used in or to facilitate fraudulent or illegal activity. I think someone here should shoot them an email asking if after the Act is signed into law will they consider the use of their service to fund a poker account by a U.S. resident an "illegal activity." Their answer should be no because it's not illegal for the user to transfer funds under the law, it's only "illegal" for the poker site to accept the funds, however, since all sites are not based in the U.S. they aren't bound by the law and, therefore, it's not an illegal activity on their part either.

There is also something in there about "non-serviced countries", but following the link in the TOU, the US is NOT on the list.

My recent activity with Neteller.
So far this week I have:
- Sent funds to Neteller from Party Poker. - Sent funds from Neteller to Ultimate Bet. - Sent funds to Neteller from my Bank Account. ($100, cheap cheap.) - Sent funds from Neteller to WPEX. (the $100, to try out the site.) I somewhat remember "quickly" agreeing to a new TOS policy, but I think I have the option to review it more thoroughly. All of my recent activity has been standard. Oh, and after 1.5 hours of play at WPEX, I'm already up $45 with ~$5 in rake coming back to me on Monday. The tables dried up, went over to UB and won ~$100 when I FINALLY hit a set and a full house. (Can you believe that??)

Last night I opened a firepay account. I am not trying to whore for them, as they charge $3.99 for each deposit (from a validated account). But they have free withdrawals.
So when the money flows (bank account -> firepay ->poker site) costs you $3.99 but (poker site -> firepay -> bank account) is free. I didn't read the fine print carefully, but they might be an expensive, but legit competitor for neteller. edit to add. I will check, but I think (pokersite -> firepay -> poker site) is free as well. |

Wil just posted something on CardSquad that Firepay has now changed that 'FREE' part to "$10". Check out Wil's post on CS for details...

I actually used FirePay long before I ever used Neteller. Neteller is/was superior, but who knows any more with as fast as things have been changing.
Neteller needs to be smart and realize the huge opportunity they have here if they don't get stupid. |

There is no reason for me to use them after this. I really hope most people dump them for this. Not even an email to inform their clients that they are now going to fuck them. Brilliant |

Are you sure this is all the time. I tried to make a withdrawal some time ago and also had the $10 fee placed on my withdrawal (which I didnt make). When I questioned them about it, they said that they charge $10 if you havent funded your account in some time. Thankfully I had only been making withdrawals
After I switched some money around (firepay->party->igmpay->checking->firepay) the $10 withdrawal fee was lifted. Alot of trouble to avoid a $10 fee, but what can I say, I am a cheap bastard! Maybe this has changed but this may be why you are both seeing this $10 withdrawal fee. |

Fair warning:
I have read numerous posts on 2+2 from people who have had their Firepay account frozen and funds confiscated for no apparent reason at all. This was not due to the new law, but has gone on in the past pretty frequently. These were respected posters, not 3-posts adolescents who did things to bring it on themselves. There has been cases with some substantial amounts of cash taken away with no communication, including them ignoring emails and not working with people to straighten things out. Be careful.
