Who do you start this week?
In my fantasy football league at work, I have an open slot for a running back this weekend, due to Oakland's bye week. (LaMont Jordan was my dud second round pick.) Sitting on my bench and ready to play, I have:
Chester Taylor, MIN (playing CHI this weekend) or Fred Taylor, JAX (playing IND this weekend) Who would you start this weekend? EDIT to add my pick and why: Although I would generally pick Fred (i) because of experience and (ii) because he's playing against an easier defense (IND), I am picking Chester the Molester. Chester seems to be a bigger part of Minnesota's defense, and if he keeps putting up decent numebrs, he's going to get more looks. Which is what I'm looking for this weekend.

Neither one is especially enticing, but I'm going to have to go with Fred because even though Chester is proving himself to be a pretty durable back, he's up against a top-three defense and Minnesota's running game, at least in the past six or seven years, has usually amounted to nothing but smoke and mirrors. Isn't there anyone, and I mean ANYONE (extra wideout, extra QB), you can start instead of one of these guys? I just don't see you getting anything more than mimial production out of either of them.
Go with Fred. Ride it out before he gets injured next week.

God, you suck at football. Your man is going to fumble, at least once, not sure if that negates points though. He's not going to score and he's going to get 50 or less yards. Also, running backs play offense, not defense.

Im not a big fan of Fred Taylor by any means... but you do realize Minn is playing Chicago right?
Taylor all day

If I didn't vote, it would be 6-1 in favor of Fred Taylor, which is pretty clear-cut. Here's hoping Freddie shows up on Sunday.

I thought this was a no brainer anyway, but just saw this:
It's no secret. Taylor has averaged 4.7 yards per rush against the Colts in eight AFC South games. He's run for 5.2 per carry at the RCA Dome in those four divisional games. The Colts are without their best run stuffer in Corey Simon and could be short-handed along the line if Dwight Freeney can't play or Montae Reagor plays hurt. Taylor carved up Pittsburgh with 92 yards on 22 carries. The Colts have allowed 294 yards rushing, an average of 5.8 per carry, in two games. |

Looks like a push! They both ran for 74 yards and neither scored! Chester fumbled (still not sure if this is bad in FF or not) but caught 3 balls for 15 yards. Fred only caught 1 pass and it was for -1.
I would've been right on the money if we didn't let him bust one big run for 24 yards in the 4th quarter.
