This is what running good looks like...
Here are my numbers since yesterday. I'm pretty sure this is the hottest I have ever run.
Even though my AA got cracked by KQs in the very first hand I played today for a $450+ pot (he was short and we got it all in), I'll still tell you that I am running VERY well. I'm playing well too, but I'm hardly getting sucked out on at all, which is an EXTREMELY nice change of pace compared to what I'm used to. I haven't sucked out on anyone even once (not counting when I was betting and they were calling me down), but I did get it all in on my last hand of the night (I was UTG and had already unchecked the Auto-Post Blinds button) with AA vs. QQ, and I also flopped a set of Ts over a set of 9s earlier in the night for one of the biggest pots I've ever scooped in my life. You can actually see that hand on the graph. Wow. BTW - I also played about 250 hands of limit (haven't played in a long time) and broke exactly even before switching back to NL. Somehow I'm just not in a hurry to get back to the limit games again any time soon. Go figure. Last edited by Talking Poker; 09-19-06 at 11:36 PM. |

Discipline. You know it's your biggest weakness.... we all do.

Nice to know someone on this forum is doing well. I for one am not. Mostly due to my own stupidity. I'm still up 8K this month poker wise, but with how many hands I've logged (30K), it is definately disappointing.

Out of pure curiousity... any of those 30k at Party?

Assuming you are still playing nearly exclusively at Bodog, I have to question if the games are *as much* softer there than other sites to make all he other drawbacks worthwhile.
If I had to guess, I'd say variance had you running exceptionally well last month and probably fairly badly this month (at least a little below average). And if you are running bad and still turning a nice profit, that's a good thing. Hang in there. Let's see where you are at when you get to 50k hands. |

About 9,000 of them were at party.

As a followup, this is what running BAD looks like.... Holy freaking hell.
A few sick second best hands, one bad beat, one big missed draw and TWO hands that I played badly, IMO. I can't hit a flop and bluffing is NOT working. Wow. I think that's the worst I've ever run over so few hands. I have NEVER been stacked so many times so fast.... Like that showdown number??? Ugh. I'm quitting now before I get stupid(er). My preflop play was actually fine (despite the high looking numbers), but after that - not so much. Last edited by Talking Poker; 09-21-06 at 04:03 PM. |

51 hands are u serious?
u had to be doing something wrong like pushing blind preflop every single hand? i dont think ive even lost that many buy ins that fast.

Yeah, I KNOW I haven't. Crazy, isn't it???
And yes, I was playing badly (thanks to my JJ losing to 22 the first time I got stacked), but I wasn't playing THAT badly. My preflop play was fine, but for some reason, I wasn't folding when I knew I was beat. I was firing 2 shells and then either folding or making TERRIBLE calls when they came over the top of me. When I was calling - with hands like TP and a nut flush draw - the river was a brick. Worst session ever... by a lot. |

How dare I EVER suggest that I can run good...
Don't worry, this is all gone and then some: |
