well 4 people cold calling the raise preflop
when he goes over the top you should feel your only outs are the hearts and maybe a king if your lucky.
He was making a total bluff which you picked off only to lose by a monster suck out.
But somehow I think the right play would have been to fold after he makes the big raise you would still have "some chips to play with"

Thrash and Gov.... are you people kidding me? Fold to his raise???

Im drunk and just got home -- but Im pretty sure Im not crazy here

After preflop there is 4050 in the pot.

After he bets there is 5850 in the pot, after his opponent raises there is 9385 in the pot (65 of his raise doesnt count)

So it's on him to call 1735 into a 9385 pot....thats like 5.5:1 on his money on a 3:1 draw (assuming his K or Q is no good....theres even better odds if they are). There is no chance in hell I lay this down or even give any thought to laying it down (I likely push the flop btw, not bet 1800, but thats besides the point)

Right..... folding to that small raise would be a HORRIBLE play. Especially when in reality, he was something like a 10:1 favorite!

7.9:1, but who's counting?

You can't fold there even if opponent shows you top set.

On the other hand....

PF: all-in, limp or fold. No reason to play KQs postflop OOP after putting 20% of your stack in.

Flop: All-in. What's this betting half your stack?
