This is the shiznit
Sometimes I go a month or so without checking the software forum over at 2+2. When I go back, I'm always kicking myself in the ass.
Here's the latest development in fish finding softare. From what I've read, it takes your PT date from your database and applies it to the players currently seated at Party Poker tables. It then gives you data on what tables have your fish, which tables are fishiest, and it updates pretty much constantly. Anyway, much more information and discussion on the product is available I'm getting ready to give this baby a whirl right now, just thought I'd give a heads up about it. Sounds awesome.

I have been playing around with it for the past day, and it is pretty sweet. Too bad they are going to charge some monthly fee.

Monthly fee does suck, but I'm going to evaluate it. I've played around w/ the program for a few minutes now and it's great. Depending on the charge, it may be worth it for me. Now, I'd just datamine and wouldn't have to worry about the manual stuff I used to do to get a buddy list up. Saves time, does a more thorough job, and updates constantly.
I came up with my own custom scoring rules, kind of like the fish criteria in the game selection thread, and I like it. I put 3 different categories in: Loose Passive Maniac and Weak-Tight I put a value on each one and it rates each table accordingly to those values. I can sort tables by VPIP and see exactly who is at the table, then select the table through the program and it cycles thorugh the party list and finds/opens the table for me. This program rocks. I may cream my pants.

u like it even for NL?
i can see how it would be awesome for Limit, or even low stakes NL but dont u play $600 NL? i dont see how it would help alot unless u figure there are pretty consistant fish there. i just dont see how it would be too useful for 1k NL, but wut do u think? |

Considering it is easier to profit from bad players in NL (those that call far too often, especially for stacks on the river against my weak-tight ass), I would say that it is important.

Of course it's useful! It gives you information for EVERYONE sitting at your limit (that you have stats on).
I obviously don't play NL1000, but I'm sure not everyone there is a good player. This software lets you look at everybody and hand pick your opponents!!!! So, even if they're all good, you still get to pick the weakest of them!!! That's an advantage at any level. Sure it's more of an advantage for certain games than others, but any edge is an edge worth exploiting.

ok, im gonna figure out how to download this thing, u guys talked me into it.
also shab and boobie, as u know i run seriously nothing while playing. and i know there have been threads in the past about all sorts of programs to use. just what other programs do u find extremely useful that i should DL that arent like pahud and that stuff- cuz i dont like those. the only 1 i can think of now is partyplanner - is that thing cool? |

Shabi's thread on table selection basically has the majority of programs that I use. I also use when playing NL because I hate having to type in the number I want to bet, or use the scroll bar when trying to enter a bet. It bets the pot (after preflop) with a middle click, and 3/4 pot with a right click. Also, when you use the scroll button on the mouse, just roll it up and it will go up +1BB. It saves a lot of time for me.

Boobie, have you determined your own stats for filtering fish or does this software have built-in numbers?
|

They have some built in numbers which do an efficient job. I just use them at the moment, but I will add some of my own in the near future.

They DO NOT have 6-max LHE #s, but they do for the rest of the games. I mae up my own #s which was really easy following the site's tutorial. Also, right now, I don't believe it supports anything under 5/10 LHE. It says what NL levels it supports, but I don't remember.
TP, I'd get on the bandwagon right away w/ this guy. Contact him about getting a banner or something when he first starts selling it.

Just download and load it up whenever playing at Party and it should work.

This sounds pretty sweet. Give us an update in a few days. Is it for Party only?
Also, a semi-unrelated question.... you know how there is that whole data mining process for Party? Can we do that at Full Tilt too? In other words, is there something out there that will write observed FT HHs to your HD, so PT can import them? I know Party > Full Tilt for limit cash games, but I've been playing a lot of NL lately - I started at Full Tilt to clear one of their reload bonuses (took about 2 days), and I've stuck around ever since for whatever reason. I hardly even use (let alone care about) my opponent's "data" when I play NL, but information is power, so I wouldn't mind having the option. Boobie should start a thread about exactly what he looks for when searching for NL donkies... Hint, Hint. |

Well, I've already determined that I'll pay for it after one night. Makes game selection even easier. Right now, it's just for Party, but with plans to expand to other major sites.
I don't know anything about Full Tilt or possibilities for other sites. This app isn't about using the data while playing. It's about having it all there for you BEFORE YOU SIT DOWN!!! Instant, sortable, with the ability to look at the table's info and just join that table with a click. Whether you (in general, not TP) are using the data to aid your play is irrelevant. Anybody who thinks it "doesn't matter" what seat you pick at Party and just sits down blind doesn't pay much attention. This isn't 2003. P.S. Thanks for the title change!!!

I really don't have a sophiscated system. I just search for a players with a VP$IP over 50 and a went to showdown over 30%. Basically, they play too loose preflop and postflop. Generally, these people are willing to play for stacks with top pair, which is always a nice thing for my weak-tight ass.

Dood. You should. How many tables do you play at a time? I play 4, and I'm not nearly attentive enough to get great reads on 36 people at a time. So it's great for me to be able to just look at a PAHUD number on somebody that I haven't really paid much attention to when I'm deciding if I should call their raise or raise from the button after they've limped. And "donkies" is spelled "donkeys" |

|

So, how does this work, without opening all of the tables (of your limit) on Party? Or does it?

See, and those aren't always the same guys I want to target. My style works better against guys I get get off hands when I want to... those High Go To Showdown players are nice when you have the goods, but when you usually don't have anything (like me!), you need to bluff a lot more.
So I guess because I'm looser and more aggressive than you, I prefer less aggressive (but still loose preflop) opponents. I'd be quite happy for my opponents to ALWAYS fold when I bet. |

Donkeys. Yeah.
I typically play 3 at a time. I have the numbers there and I glance at them from time to time, but they don't affect my play much. I don't use them AT ALL for table selection - that's where I'm been doing my "Target the Short Stacks" thing. |

Because I've got 6-max LHE selected, and they don't have fish rules defined for that game level. They're "working on it."
I've got my own rules in place, so my ratings are in the "user" column, instead of the fish column.
